TFY Draft Insider Tony Pauline reports that TCU LB Paul Dawson met with the Minnesota Vikings Thursday, and has an official visit set up with the Vikings and Panthers, and will work out for the Patriots.
At his pro day, the 6-foot-2, 230-pound Dawson weighed five pounds lighter than he did at the combine. The TCU prospect posted 10-0 in the long jump, which was eleven inches better than his combine mark. Pauline notes that Dawson's "drill work was fantastic" and he "looked smooth, quick and explosive" and believes he did "enough to keep him in the top 45." Mar 27 - 4:03 PM

Don't believe the 6'2 height......he barely is over 6'. Combine measurements exposed the schools lies.

Eberflus is intrigued by Dawson, explaining that he makes “plays on the ball” and has traits compatible with the prerequisites needed to succeed at an outside position.
“To me, I always go by what’s on tape, what happens in the games, because that’s real,” Eberflus explained. “A lot of times, when you’re moving around in this setting or at the combine, that’s not real football. So, to me, when you look at that, you put a pretty big premium on the game tape.”
And in Dawson’s case, Patterson said, “film doesn’t lie.”

i still like him unlike floaty,he looks really quick on the field and thats all that matters.

Sean Lee also ran in the 4.7s,its all about instincts for an ILB.

I saw some tape of the guy months ago and I feeling so so about the guy. But when the lb coach and scout director is out there they must like something.

Had the same thought. Ebeflus hit on Hitchens so I trust his judgment. They probably want to move Brinkley off the roster next season with a good draft pick this year who can play a couple positions. Maybe he thinks he can beef him up a bit for the Mike. You can hide his speed a bit and let him roam in coverage.

Yeah you hide his speed in an area but outside that he is expose. If he is isolated on have to run down a player he is toast.

The Cowboys could have been looking at multiple players from TCU. Rounds could be 2-7.
