Dez: Going to be great having him back emotionally and of course with his ability to get open and catch the ball. I don't know how he'll play but at this point another couple losses and he can rest for quite a long time.

Hardy: Biggest non-story of year to me. I want all of them going nuts. We've lost 4 in a row. That's not OK. Not even minus Romo. Every player should be surly, hateful and playing mean... like Hardy.

Media: It is a tougher environment than ever before for media and honestly going to a big-time journalism school at this point seems almost foolish but man these guys need to get a grip on reality. Dictating to coaches? Editorializing every minor issue? They are basically chumps. So unprofessional and so pointless. I hate how far the DMN has fallen. Dallas had two of the best newspapers in the world at one point. Now it is good for litter box liner.

Randle: Glad he was mad enough to throw a tantrum. Seemed all too willing to ride the tricycle while DMC was carrying it 30 times last Sunday. Good job of caring about your PT. Now, perhaps, show us on the field.

Cassel: The one thing I want to see this week is basic awareness. Avoid Richard Sherman and pick on the other CBs. The running game should be better than Seattle's so just break even in passing and we got a real shot.

SEA: I think their weakness along the front will give us a real chance to get a desperately needed W. DAL should have beaten NO and NYG but after those gifts they simply must win this week.

Fans: Cowboys Nation has definitely gotten a raw deal here. We've waited quite along time for this much talent and coaching to be collected only to see Romo and Dez seriously injured. Try to keep your head up and brighter days will come. It can always be worse, you could be Eagles fans.

Eagles: Wonder how the next coach is going to like all those massive RB contracts??

Draft: For me it is clearly defined as WR/Safety then RB/CB/LB then QB then DL. I gotta admit that is a lot of need for a team I consider a Super Bowl contender when healthy.

I wonder how Brice Butler will play out given more opportunities. That might have me placing a lesser emphasis on WR in draft.

Back up QB is a primary concern - get one in off season and draft one in Round 1-3.
Also would like to see RB and Safety drafted in Round 1-3.

Concerning the newspaper media, they sure talk tough behind their keyboards. I would love to see the Goose (Gosling, DMN) dress up and go one-on-one (we called it the "nutcracker") versus Hardy just one time. Then I would value his opinion on respect and leadership.

Brice probably has a very real shot to knock Devin Street off the roster but his ceiling is a Wr2-Wr4 on the outside imho.
I am not sure you want to pay TWill a 2nd contract (needs 5+ seconds to get open and body catches) so I see 3 WRs on the team going forward... Dez/Beas/Butler. Lucky is probably headed towards a ST heavy role as our last WR and back up slot guy but I am not even sure he is the answer at either role. If a WR falls in round 1 or 2 that would be a position I'd seriously consider.

QB is never a good bet to draft. It is just hard to match value with slot but you have to keep it on the priority list so when it does you take the shot. Ideally a guy you like falls to you but reality suggests that won't happen... and Cassel is probably better than all but a couple QBs drafted next year.

My pet position is Safety. Not only did I play it, it's been our most talent deficient position since the Woody/RW31 pairing ended. But it is also surprisingly hard to find good safeties. Teams like the Giants are burning R1s on guys who are really good at one thing. Not many Kam Chancellors or Earl Thomases out there. I'd love to find a draft fit but again it may be wishful thinking. RB/LB are on my list if value is really good.

You think they would let go of both T Will and D Street ?

RB in round 2-3 seems likely. Not sure I would take one in Rd 1. I wouldn't be opposed to picking a safety in Rd 1 at all.

the problem is the profession has fallen into entertainment mode.
it is literally look at me i'm on fire as opposed to providing legit information.
people that want to learn use google or refresh twitter where the "new media" hammers out breaking news in 140 characters or less with limited editorial... people that want to see train wrecks or get laughs watch the media.

the scene from newsroom covered it very well where he attacked the country ... but what was left out is the media is the driving force behind much of that. people are getting their "information" off facebook memes that are wholly inaccurate and could be fact checked but instead get reposted 10000000000 times.

I'm seeing a QB/WR/RB first three rounds... not necessarily in that order mind you.

Same here.

Given that they are the three spots that have most hurt this team (given the drop off in talent from last year), I think any would be a safe bet depending on how the draft goes.

would be very hard for me to see getting out of the top 3 rounds with 0 defensive guys.
mcclain is on a 1 yr deal, carr has to be cut soon, mo is a FA, we are awful at safety.
gotta give Rod something for that defense imho.

qb: a lot may well depend on how cassel and moore perform behind the scenes. we could be fine with romo/cassel/moore ... or not at all.
rb: if value is right fine, but rb is least valuable real position in the game. even great ones often have short shelf lives.
wr: seems to me very likely to one of top 3 picks in that there are a lot of them coming out yearly and we need one. tcu/baylor both have guys who could help us.

My own take is that the safety is already here in Byron Jones.

At this point, barring injury, I think Claiborne stays and Carr goes at cornerback next year, Jones moves to free safety full time, Scandrick returns, and Church/Wilcox fight it out for SS. Patmon is still under contract I believe, and I'd like to see the team re-sign Corey White.

I am not sure Devin Street makes any team next year. TWill is just not developing hands or route running for me to pay him anything after his rookie deal. He's fine as a stop gap tho.

The problem is, what QB?
The Lynch kid at Memphis has shot up boards but I've never seen him play beyond sports center.
Everyone loves Goff but I see Joey Harrington in him all day.
Hackenberg is too stiff, too mechanical for today's NFL.
I don't see any real obvious help at QB... and use an r1 for a guy 203 years away during potential SB runs? unlikely, imho.

I want a QB who can extend plays and also be accurate both in the pocket and out. Tough to find that.

I see things the same way. Of course the draft has to fall just right to get the best value at those positions. I think everybody saw the need for a RB in this last draft, but it seemed like everything made it impossible to get any kind of value at RB. QBs seems to be overvalued on most team boards, so Dallas may have to sacrifice some value to get Romo's replacement.
