Phillips has gotten stronger and added alittle weight from last year, at about 6-5 265 now. Witten says Phillips is doing good now, while running some of the plays that he hasnt ran before. Witten says Phillips is one of those crafty players, figuring out a way to get the job done, with last practice was one of the best Witten saw Phillips play at practice. Witten also said that Phllips works his tail off which leaves a good impression on you, and with Bennett not playing more reps for us at TE.

Contrast that with comments that Witten has said in the past about Bennett and it's clear who Witten would rahter have on the field in 2-TE sets.

It actually says nothing of the sort unless you give brief statements undue weight and then pass them through a filter of personal biases.

Speaking positively of someone and pointing out ways in which someone else can improve does not speak to the full measure of ones opinion about those two individuals. It's hardly a zero-sum game in any case. He doesn't even necessarily have to have a preference.
