USC at UCLA

Clubs attending: St. Louis Rams,Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys,Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers,Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons,Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears.

Three top players: USC (DL Leonard Williams, WR Nelson Agholor, LB Hayes Pullard); UCLA (QB Brett Hundley, LB Eric Kendricks, LB Myles Jack).

Brooks' take: "Leonard Williams is maybe the No. 1 prospect in all of college football, and teams will want to see him in a big moment like this, against a rival team. There is still a lot of interest in Brett Hundley. He has improved his game over the last few weeks and guys will want to see if he continues to trend up."

The injuries that have hampered USC defensive lineman Leonard Williams this season, both shoulder and ankle problems, don't appear to have dampened excitement for the underclassman among NFL scouts. In advance of Saturday's USC-UCLA game, the Los Angeles Times gathered scouting opinions on the top prospects on both teams. And one recognized that Williams' impressive junior season has come at less than full strength.

"Before I went in there, I thought this guy had a lot of hype. When I saw him, I thought he is the real deal," the scout said. "He's got a great body, quick off the ball. He did have that shoulder surgery, so he's a little bit behind strength-wise, but he still has plenty of strength. He's got tremendous upside."

Williams had surgery in the offseason to repair a torn labrum. The scout said Williams' most impressive game film of the year came against Arizona, a 28-26 USC win, in which he made eight solo tackles, two sacks, and forced a fumble. Williams has six sacks this season. He has until mid-January to declare eligibility for the 2015 NFL Draft.

A few other scouting notes from The Times on USC's top prospects:

Wonder what the Cowboys interest is in Hundley? He has come up big in some key games despite having a poor OL. I think there is a good chance he is there when they draft., I am sure the scouts were particularly interested in him as Williams will be long gone by then.

maybe the Cowboy scouts were looking at big Zach Banner, the 6'9", 350 pound right tackle for the Trojans. He is the son of Lincoln Kennedy. There are rumors that the redshirt sophomore is going to go pro. He has great feet for a man his size, he also played basketball at USC.

They could have also been looking at USC CB/S Josh Shaw, a 1st round talent who will go lower due to his ridiculously poor judgement in lying about his injury. Outside of that incident, he was a captain and top student. He's the kind of physical CB that would excel in our current defensive scheme.

I hope the scouts were looking at Bruins Eric Kendricks(LB) and Owamagbe Odighizuwa(DT). Both are aggressive players that would help this defense.

I like Hundley. If he's drafted with the idea of sitting behind Romo a year or two, I wouldn't hate it. My concern would be missing out a player who can fill an immediate hole, specifically on defense.

I think Hundley in the first is the best option as far as grooming a guy, just ahead of Carden in the 2nd. He has legit franchice potential but he needs a year or to to refine his game. I really want to see him work on his touch.

I can see him being a legit duel threat QB that runs an offense from the pocket and runs when needed

In other words, drafting for need.

Oh no. If Hundley is the best player there, you take him.

I'm talking about taking him because you are so worried about the future instead of an equally graded DT or DE who can come in, start, and have an immediate impact.

sorry but Hundley scares me a lot,he runs a simplistic offense at UCLA,he has big time bust potential imo.can he go through his progressions and the answer is no,he should be somebody who should be drafted in the 2nd rd imo.

Zach Banner stinks....Scouted him. Can't imagine him @ this level against speed rushers. That's a sack just waiting to happen
