We let the man-man guys walk, and we are going to pick zone players who are good tacklers. It started with Brown....now Awuze

cover 2 defense. Better zone corners. In the cover 2 u need a good dline so u only have to rush 4. So we will see.

Here's what I had on Chidobe 2 months ago. It was difficult to find any negatives.

6 Chidobe Awuzie Colorado 5'11 205 Strong and physical enough to make an impact in run support. Sure tackler compared to other CB'S on this list. Good athlete. Holds his ground versus bigger receivers. Looks fast on tape. Can play on or off man. Has a good punch on his initial jam. Press technique looks good. Shows a good feel for zone coverage. Diagnoses routes quickly in zone.Very Smooth back pedal. Can play anywhere across the secondary. Natural cover guy. Can flip his hips and fast enough to run with anybody. Tough, instictive football player. More quick than long speed. But I didn't see him beat deep. Biggest knock was lack of interceptions. He can push for playing time immediately, can play slot or outside. I would be surprised if he isn't a first round pick. Expect him to climb boards. Draft stock: late first round

Trailblazer: So can this kid play safety too? Seems to me he might fit the bill there if he can fill out some. Height, speed and tackling ability are more than adequate for the position. Thoughts?

I suspect the Cowboys will use him like they used Byron in his first year and see where he fits.

Pretty much what I was driving at with the question jday. I'm NOT a draft guru...don't follow it closely at all. I've only seen this kid play once vs. Michigan and he made PLAYS all game long. He's a first round talent IMO. Good as Jones? Maybe. He doesn't have the measurables but he made as many or more big plays in college vs. better competition. I'm excited about him. I was slightly worried about Mo AND Carr leaving but not so much tonight. 3rd rounder should be very intriguing to end the night.

I love it. I think he's a better football player than Taco, even. Well done.

I really hope they don't dual position him like Jones. Let the guy stay at corner and develope.

Absolutely he can. Would start right away. Doesn't shy away from contact. That might be what the cowboys have in mind is to play him at safety. Versatility is a huge plus for him. Natural cover guy with toughness to play the run.

I was pushing for him as an option at #28.
