Cowboys have three staffers at Texas Pro Day eyeing CB Aaron Williams​

According to Star-Telegram beat writer Charean Williams, the Cowboys sent three staffers to the Texas Pro Day on Tuesday to get a closer look at cornerback Aaron Willaims.

Secondary coach Dave Campo was joined by scouting director Tom Ciskowski and scout staffer Chris Hall.

Williams didn't disappoint. He told his agent he ran 4.36 in the 40 yard dash. It was also reported by former Cowboys scouting directer Gil Brandt that he ran a 4.40.

Either time is great for Williams who had a disappointing effort at the Scouting Combine in February when he ran a 4.52 in the 40, prompting scouts to talk about him moving to safety and his stock to drop from a possible late first-round pick to a second rounder.​

Case in point on why Pro Day timings are so notorious. Williams reportedly clocked at 4.37, while cowboyjoe posted another link that stated he was timed consistently in the mid 4.4s. All this after running a 4.52 at the Combine.

Why would that be an ******* statement?

AOA hasn't done anything one way or the other but he also hasn't really even had the opportunity to either.

If you invest a pick in a guy, knowing full well that he's taking a huge step up in competition, learning a new position, learning a new scheme, and dealing with injuries, it may be worth it to not just throw the pick away one year later and scrap the project entirely.

It wouldn't stop me from drafting a safety, but it sure as heck would give me pause to take yet another guy and teach him a new position and new scheme unless he was top tier talent.

Well we can always name a flop that we have drafted at every position on the field. At this point, if you look at the glass as half empty, what position are we actually good at drafting in the JJ regime.
