First of all, we know Jerry Jones want to save alot of money of course. Sign Free and draft a offensive lineman in the 3rd Round.
Romo is not the answer and he needs some real competition to really push him to be an either better Quarterback or else.

Cam Newton is mobile and able to make plays when he gets blitz and most of all he's a leader on the field. Even if Romo does start, I feel that the Cowboys could use Cam Newton as a wild cat quarterback. Cowboys have to build for the future. Im not counting McGee out but I believe with Cam Newton size 6-6 250 and playmaking ability he's a quarterback we diffently wouldn't want to play against and I rather have him on our team winning superbowls, eventually with McGee as a back-up.

With the talent that surrounds Cowboys and having a WOW! addition like Cam Newton on this team will change what happens in big games. Cam Newton is a big game quarterback that knows how to win.

According to Sportingnews.com,

Cam Newton
6-6 250

Strengths: Is a huge QB with excellent/rare athleticism, outstanding strength and big time arm strength. Has consistently shown the strength to pull free from potential sacks to create a second chance and can make a big play throwing the ball or scrambling with. Has the quickness and athleticism to avoids sacks and create something out of nothing. Can make every NFL throw with good accuracy and zip when he is on. Flashes the ability to avoid pressure, can re-set feet and make quick and accurate throws. Is poised in pocket and does not panic with pressure around him -- stays poised, will not force passes and seems willing to throw passes away to avoid sacks. Flashes ability to go through progressions and find open receiver, but has to do it more consistently.

Weaknesses: Is a raw QB who needs a lot of work on his fundamentals. Has a whip-like delivery with a slight wind-up, which reminds us a little of Vince Young, and it seems to be easily readable. Does not look off defenders and too often defenders are able to break and close quickly on his passes to make plays on the ball (Either breaking up or intercepting them). Does not do a good job of leading receivers and tends to throw to the receiver, which makes man stop route. Keeps a wide base in the pocket and does not stride into throws most of the time and usually just torques body and flicks pass with arm which leads to his accuracy being off way too often. Passes are too often off-target and in position for the defender to make a play on the ball. Questions about his character have been raised.
Bottom line: Newton is a junior starting for the first time in 2010. He began his career as Tim Tebow's backup at Florida and after an off-field incident regarding a stolen computer he choose to leave Florida. He then went to Blinn JC where he led them to the 2009 JC Championship before transferring to Auburn where he won the starting job for the 2010 season. Not only does he have to answer questions about incident involving computer at Florida, but now might have to answer questions about his recruitment to Auburn. Overall, if Newton chooses to come out early for the 2011 NFL Draft (Which I do not believe he should) he will be a highly debated QB who will most likely be viewed as a third round prospect by most teams (As Tebow was), but could get chosen much higher as he has rare physical talent and history tells us that NFL teams often fall in love with a quarterbacks rocket arm and physical tools and end up over-looking their deficiencies as a passer.

In a way Cam Newton reminds me of Dez Bryant, the field is his sanctuary.

AND THIS IS HIS TEN REASONS WHY COWBOYS SHOULD GET HIM....

How about Ben Rothelisberger?
Which who I believe Cam Newton reminds me of.

Cam will drop to a team that does not need an immediate starter... that could be #1 with the Panthers situation, I doubt that too though. The Cowboys don't fall into that category.

He is a Tim Tebow type of project. Good, but far from NFL ready. The Patriots will sign him. haha.

Really ? in what way ?

Rothelisberger is not the athlete that Newton is and Newton is not nearly the passer than Rothelisberger is..

I guess you didn't watch the youtube video then.

Funny that you said that, I hadn't watched them either. I saw a guy that has never taken a snap under center. Need a lot of work, needs a Veteran to lead him.

A lot of those plays were pitiful defensive errors. Some very exciting plays that he created, but most almost dumb luck.

There is no reason why unless he can be had in the 3rd round or later.

Because Bill Cosby gave him advice?
I am most reminded of a video of Jerry last year when he was drunk and talking about why we wouldn't take Tim Tebow. It seems more fitting an answer than highlight videos.

Why draft a guy with a 1st round pick when he won't be ready to play for at least 3 or 4 years? Romo has at least 3 or 4 very good seasons left in him and probably 5 or 6 decent seasons left. Cam would not even see the field unless there were injuries.

Why draft him to maybe get in the game just as a wildcat QB? The wildcat is something you only run once or twice a game. There is no reason to run it more than that. The few teams that do try and run the wildcat more than a couple of times a game all suck or have inconsistent QB play.

Why spend a first round pick at a position where you don't have a need? Dallas has glaring holes at several other positions. There is no need for another QB, but there are needs at other spots.

That is how you explain why not. Just posting videos doesn't answer questions. Especially highlight videos. If highlight videos were a good reason why to draft a player then there would never be any busts in the NFL. Every single draft pick would be can't miss. And I didn't even get into Newton's lack of experience, less than optimal mechanics and possible character issues.

I'm not as anti Cam as most, I just think he's too much of a project. Maybe you take a guy like that later, but if you're spending #9 on a player, he's gotta have some polish.

This reminds me of the "draft Byron Leftwich or else" movement a few years back. You can see where that led us.

Cam is intriguing. Deal is, accuracy and reading defenses ultimately decide in this league, and is the big guy accurate enough and smart enough to do the job?

Outside my limited skills to make that judgement at this point. Have any of the QB/analysts chimed in on this guy?

Trent Dilfer?
Steve Young?
Troy Aikman?
Terry Bradshaw?
Phill Simms?
Jaws?

Exactly. I am not opposed to Dallas drafting him in the 4th round or possibly even the 3rd,. It just doesn't work for what Dallas needs at the #9 overall spot.
