I'm not lamenting Rogers yet. He could turn out like Bohanna or Ridgeway before him.You make alot of good points . Mazi Smith is serviceable no more no less . Drafted way too early . Like Schoonmaker . I don’t think you have much choice with OSA, he has to be signed or he will flourish in someone elsed DT spot . He’s been a solid third rounder .
Yes Kneeland is young and Smith and Osa is a solid vet , The cupboard is almost empty . I don’t count # 11 he’s a hybrid talent .
Scouts are looking Dline next draft . Rogers leaving was a waste . Could have played this year in Dallas .
Osa may demand be demanding more than Dallas is willing to pay. He could fall into the category of a Byron Jones, who was a very good corner but not a game-changer who the team just had to keep.
You may not count Parsons among the linemen, but he's still going to be at DE a majority of the time, so the team isn't going to look at the position the same in the draft as it would if it had to have a full-time DE. I think the Cowboys will look at it, though, sort of like the Kneeland pick. They need someone to play right end in the base (run downs). They will have Williams back next year, but I think they view him primarily as just a pass rusher. That means they have to add another end next year if they don't re-sign Lawrence (which I'm not expecting him to do unless he's cheap) and a tackle if they let Osa walk. I wouldn't be surprised by them taking a stab at a DT backup late as well, but that would be three picks spent on the DL, so they may just fill those backup spots with cheap FAs, like they ultimately did this year with Lawson, Phillips and Joseph. Might depend on how well those old heads contribute.
