You make alot of good points . Mazi Smith is serviceable no more no less . Drafted way too early . Like Schoonmaker . I don’t think you have much choice with OSA, he has to be signed or he will flourish in someone elsed DT spot . He’s been a solid third rounder .

Yes Kneeland is young and Smith and Osa is a solid vet , The cupboard is almost empty . I don’t count # 11 he’s a hybrid talent .
Scouts are looking Dline next draft . Rogers leaving was a waste . Could have played this year in Dallas .
I'm not lamenting Rogers yet. He could turn out like Bohanna or Ridgeway before him.

Osa may demand be demanding more than Dallas is willing to pay. He could fall into the category of a Byron Jones, who was a very good corner but not a game-changer who the team just had to keep.

You may not count Parsons among the linemen, but he's still going to be at DE a majority of the time, so the team isn't going to look at the position the same in the draft as it would if it had to have a full-time DE. I think the Cowboys will look at it, though, sort of like the Kneeland pick. They need someone to play right end in the base (run downs). They will have Williams back next year, but I think they view him primarily as just a pass rusher. That means they have to add another end next year if they don't re-sign Lawrence (which I'm not expecting him to do unless he's cheap) and a tackle if they let Osa walk. I wouldn't be surprised by them taking a stab at a DT backup late as well, but that would be three picks spent on the DL, so they may just fill those backup spots with cheap FAs, like they ultimately did this year with Lawson, Phillips and Joseph. Might depend on how well those old heads contribute.

With the Cowboys picking late in the 1st round, I think they should target the top running back. As of right now they could go for the Boise Stare back or the Oklahoma State back. I think that they could get one of them between picks 20 and 31.
I think it will depend on how this year's plan works out for them. If the old guard can carry the load, then they might try to roll it back out next year. Plus, I'm sure they want to see what Vaughn is going to be. But I'm not sure if all that fails that they would spend a first-round pick on the position since they've essentially devalued it. Based on the players we stand to lose after this season, the defensive line might be the first-round priority, but No. 2 receiver could be up there as well if no one shows enough that we're comfortable with replacement options for Cooks. Quarterback would be an obvious top need if we don't resign Dak, but I feel fairly certain that we will.

He cannot. He has to be on a team to serve his one-game suspension.

So if that’s the case and the Browns game doesn’t count against the suspension why in the world sign him play him in PS then he still needs to serve a game suspension .

Because they cut him, if they re-signed him, he'd still have to serve a one-game suspension. I thought they would leave him on the reserve-suspended list for a game before making up their mind about him.

Anyway, if Lawson fails, they'll likely try another of these street edge rushers unless someone else feels desperate before we do.

We're still short on DE help ... Gholston is not gonna give us much help as a rush DE.
and that leaves only Breeland and Dlaw at DE on the game day active list ..right ?

Good point . Hopefully returns hungry in 25 to play for a big raise in future contract .
Williams will be recovering from ACL serious injury in 2025,.. he'll likely need a full year to try to return to previous form

I'd go with the young receivers that they already have. Maybe add one in the 3rd round if they really like 1 there.

I Heard Yannick is wanting a certain price tag that NFL teams are not willing to pay for a one dimensional player.

It's a reason why such a productive, gifted edge rusher is still out there on the streets.

Great situational pass rusher ..but perceived as a poor run defender.

Maybe more meant to be a Dante Fowler type role player.

It will be Lawrence, Kneeland, Parsons and Lawson primarily manning the end spots. When Golston is used at end, it will be to give Lawrence and Kneeland breathers on early downs when teams are more likely to run, so they can stay fresh for passing downs.

I'll wait and see. None of the ones we have behind the starters has proven anything.

Which means no pass rush from them either

Yes, but he'll most likely be called up for the first three games and then added to the roster after that if he shows well. The PS is a popular place for vet signings now (see Dalvin Cook) because you don't risk them to waivers like you do younger players. Lawson could have signed elsewhere after we cut him, but they most likely came to a handshake agreement before releasing him. Way of the NFL now.

That won't have any bearing on who makes the 53 or not. Literally NONE. That is just one piece of the overall pie.

He’s got a track record with Indy. Not going off one or 2 PS games . He just happened to get to the QB when Dallas had zero pressure from the line .

Hopefully Parsons Kneeland DLaw change that but with Williams gone need some more pieces to rotate . Parsons won’t always be rushing the passer .

I think that Flournoy has a lot of potential and is a good fit.
He does, but potential has fallen short before. Some players just reach a point and level off. We don't know if he'll be one of those or a late-round pick that develops into a player. That happens, but it's rarer that some believe because of a few stark examples. Every team hopes to find the next Puka Nacua, but there are a lot of Noah Browns out there and even more Devin Streets.
