I think the Cowboys should take a look at Peter Boulware at we could keep him for five years... just break it down that in his contract it states he get most of his money close to the end of the contract, just to save money, and put if he so happens to get traded that the team that gets him pay his contract off unless, that is a way that the team could change in negotiations....to take a lighter hit... and just put something in his contract saying he gets paid for the time of the contract he participates with the team, even games, practice, and require community time...<if required...

now would 31 year-old Peter Boulware sign a "five year-back loaded contract"? hes looking to sign a contract to retire off of; and he deserves to be paid well, hes not stupid.

i think someone is playing too much Madden

Dallas is committed to developing their young LBs. Demarcus Ware, Kalen Thornton, Kevin Burnett, Bradie James, Scott Shanle.

Bringing in a Boulware derails that mission. In other words, it won't hapen.

Bring in Law, bring in Shulters, bring in a WR, bring in a RT.........are we still trying to get younger and develop our own players? Unless we suffer a big time injury I don't see any of those positions being filled by bringing in a free agent. Our young guys need more playing time not more classroom time.

Typically I'd agree, but not at LB with more 3-4 on the way. We have zip in experience at OLB in a 3-4 and we are kinda small at one outside spot.

If we are even looking at 40% 3-4, I'd be looking to add a healthy Boulware.

I think you're onto something there. Boulware has 2" and 20 lbs. on Singleton. Sounds like he would be a much better fit for our 3-4 looks than little Al.

He also brings valuable experience to the table having playing for an excellent Ravens defense. He is used to winning and winning with defense. This is the type of vet leadership we need rubbing off on our Wares, Spearses, and Burnetts, even if it is only for a few years.

All this is assuming he is healthy of course.

I think Boulware would be a very good signing. Players need playing time but in a 34, there will be plenty of time to go around. The one thing we have a definate shortage of is experience in a 34. We may have a coach who has used it for years but we also have a DC who's never used it. We gotta have players who understand how it works IMO.

We bring in Vets at QB while were trying to develope new ones and there's even less playing time to go around at that position.

I would be in favor of bringing the guy in.

Agree Big Dog. I think this year is going to be real frustrating with the youth. Your comment probably isn't saying that but I think we'd have to have 4 genius rookies to pull off the 4-3 much less the 3-4, which is relatively new to Dallas. I'm hopin for the best but remain historically, semi-pessimistic.....................

I'll never understand how Parcells would rather keep Singleton instead of Boulware. Or how he would rather rely on some of these unproven fellas instead of a proven All-Pro veteran. I understand if Boulware is injured, but at least give him a physical to find out. We're going into linebacker suicide this year with so many undersized and unproven players. Gah! It's frustrating as hell. This whole unit has last year's cornerback story written all over it.

I would feel pretty comfortable with Ware and Boulware (outside) and Dat and Burnett (inside) as our starting 3-4 backers. Rotate in James, Shanle, and Thornton as needed to spell the starters.

Browns GM Phil Savage has already expressed the issues about his health.

We are not interested.

I'm not totally convinced; after all Al Singleton is on the starting mix, Bradie James is looking more like a bust, and Bill must recognize that Boulware gives Dallas a better chance to win. If anything, he takes a lot of pressure off the rookies and gives Dallas a more reliable failsafe.

I'm really not sold on Singleton. He really seems to be a nonfactor. I would not be opposed to upgrading his position, but if we bring in a vet I would hope that it does not slow down the young linebackers' development. By way of example if we picked up Boulware and cut or trade Al Singleton I am OK with it. On the other hand I would hate to see the addition of Boulware cut into Ware's reps at all.
