Cowboys should trade for Amari Cooper

You’re the one not showing any football IQ. If CeeDee has been living up to expectations then how come there’s all this talk about the Cowboys trading for a WR? He’s had several drops this season and has been criticized by more than a few who get paid to talk football for not battling for the ball. Even Stephen Jones criticized him after the opener. The blame was put on CeeDee for Dak’s INT last Sunday. It’s not just my expectations that are high for him it’s the teams expectations, which is one reason they made the trade to move on from Amari Cooper. Cooper Rush is better than Jacoby Brissett and Amari basically has the same numbers as CeeDee with more TDs.

As I mentioned to the other poster, CeeDee is being targeted a lot because of the absence of Gallup the first few games of the season and the fact that the rest of our WRs are average. Schultz was hardly part of the offense while Cooper Rush was the QB. I’m not saying CeeDee has been bad, but he hasn’t lived up to a number one receiver. He and the rest of our WR group was being criticized on the radio 103.5 just last week. We haven’t had a 100 yard receiver through 8 games for the first time and 50 seasons.
Because people are generally football stupid.
Fans cried about the Coop release since day 1 even though it was obviously for 2 years it was coming.
He was wildly overpaid.

I could care less about feels. Who has more receptions? Who has more yards?
CeeDee is 9th in the entire league in yards while making 4M. I could care less if he gets 100-yard game provided he is CONSISTENTLY getting 75 a game.

Coop had a great game Monday night. Cool. Dallas only scored 49 the day earlier.
People are daft man.

Coop will cost CLE 24M next year and then 24M the year after that only to then cost 7.5M in unavoidable dead money the following season.
That's stupid money for a borderline top 10 WR.

Dallas was 6-2 to start last year with Coop and they are 6--2 this year without him.
Oh and Amari Cooper has the same 4 drops on the year as CeeDee.
AJ Brown has 5. Has he underachieved too???

This is just a dumb take.

We scored 49 points and CeeDee accounted for 5 catches for 77 yards and one TD. Dalton Schultz who everyone here has been crapping on had one fewer catch and three fewer yards. His 30 yarder was the longest pass play we had. Let’s cut to the chase why do you think the Cowboys were looking to trade for a WR?

For depth. Washington and Brown are hurt. Gallup is just back from serious injury. And they obviously didn't make the move.
CeeDee has 100 more RAC yards than Cooper and 3 more catches with the same number of drops.
Dallas is not looking for a WR1, they have the guy in CeeDee.
Schultz is a Pro Bowl caliber TE with Dak and
A player with actual upside that can get yards after catch and make people miss.

Exactly 0 GMs would take Amari Cooper and his 3 years and 60M left versus CeeDee Lamb with 8M over 2 years and a 5th year option.

If they were looking to trade for depth they would’ve done it a lot sooner than this. Lol They dumped Houston a few weeks ago who was given an opportunity on opening day, but he’s a JAG. If they were interested in depth, they would’ve kept him. Gallup has been back for a couple of weeks and reports are Washington is getting close to returning. If trading for a WR was about depth the fan base wouldn’t be so upset right now. The Cowboys were looking for a WR to make a big push in December and January. If CeeDee was everything the Cowboys hoped for in a number one receiver they wouldn’t have been looking to trade for one. They traded for Cooper in 2018 to give them a boost because the receivers they had weren’t getting it done. Our WR group may not be as bad as it was in 2018 when we made the trade but it’s not that far behind. The Cowboys could possibly move on from CeeDee when his contract is done. This was another reason they were looking to make a trade. There’s not going to be enough money to pay him, Parsons and Trevon Diggs.
