Cowboys should trade Showers, Sign Vet

Tyrod Taylor was drafted in the 6th round by the Ravens in 2011. Many Ravens fans here joked about him. 4-5 years later he is a starting QB who just signed a $92M contract. Romo wasn't ready his first two-three years. Many QBs need time to develop.

Give Showers some time to develop. There might be something there. I don't understand fans just dismissing him as worthless, especially Cowboy fans.

I don't think Showers has any trade value. Having said that, I'd like to make a deal with the 49'ers for OT Anthony Davis if I possibly could.

My question would be what backup vet out there is as good as Showers, answer none.

Someone is going to have to take a bunch of snaps the next three games behind some pretty marginal linemen who are trying to make the team. I'm sure Showers wants to take those snaps to show us what he's got, so we should probably keep him around. Plus, he just might play good enough to show us he can be our number three QB this season.

If he shows enough that another team is interested in trading for him right before final cuts, then we might really want to keep him

He's worthless right now in terms of trade value. He has shown plenty to keep around as Daks eventual backup. The offense might not miss a beat if he had to play.

He signed a 1 year $9.5M deal with a team option for more.

But point taken.

What vet QB is out there and worthwhile? Ponder? No thanks. We should be looking for a swing tackle and defensive end.

Ponder signed today so he is off the market, we have a swing tackle 3rd rounder, we aren't bringing in any vet DE's.

One scenario for Sir Jones: we trade McFadden to the Raiders for a 4th rounder. Then we give them Showers for a 4th rounder in return with an option to sign McFadden.

It could happen in Sir Jerry's world...

Stop overvaluing our players. No one is trading us anything for Showers.

We'll trade him right after we get that 2nd round pick for Leary.

I hate to get rid of Showers.

He is showing progress and I wouldn't want to get rid of him until he stops showing progress.

We're really in a tough spot as far as acquiring a Vet. I believe we need one for situational purposes only.

The only GM remotely willing to consider such a trade is our very own Jerry Jones. "We like his tools and think he can develop into a good player in the right environment and with proper coaching."

Floaty only wants to trade Showers away in the hopes that they keep his man crush Moore
