Latest News
02/08/2010 - Texas vs. Nation Game Review: West Texas A&M tackle J'Marcus Webb was stout in pass protection and as a run blocker, and even got out in front of screens to dominate defensive backs. Charlie Campbell (Eastern Illinois) stood his ground in pass protection and looked fluid getting out in front of Holliday's TD run in the third quarter. - Chad Reuter, The Sports Xchange, NFLDraftScout.com

02/04/2010 - Texas vs. the Nation, Wednesday: One of the more intriguing physical specimens on the line in front of Perriloux is another major college transfer, former Texas tackle J'Marcus Webb, who played at West Texas A&M for two years after earning All-American honors at Navarro Junior College. Webb proved Wednesday he has good enough footwork and strength to anchor against the defensive ends in his game, and he has some mobility in the open field. However, scouts watching him on the field were concerned about his willingness to participate in drills and were disappointed in his body language between reps. - Chad Reuter, The SportsXchange, NFLDraftScout.com

ya but joe you post this first

Teams should be wary of

3. J Marcus Webb OT West Texas A&M
Webb has been one of the most talked about small school players this spring after shining at the Cactus Bowl, which earned him an invite to the Tx vsthe Nation game. Webb is a tall and athletic offensive tacklewith the size and strength NFL teams look for in their starting linemen, but he struggled to keep his off field issues from impacting his play on the field. He began his college career at Tx and ended up at West Tx A&M after numerous academic problems.While Webb showed maturity in predaft all star games, it is going to take a tremendous spring for him to get drafted. Side note, the cowboys have scheduled a visit to interview him

i know i did, ( i typed that from an article on a draft magazine) its called red flags,you have to check backgrouds on players with troubled past, thats why the cowboys have calvin hill to monitor them, but you see if the player has grown up

its real hard to judge that, but you get an idea when you interview him,like the cowboys most likely are going to see dez private workout in lufkin march 30th, then have him in for a private interview april 1st at valley ranch

thats called doing your homework on players

kinda like the 49ers when the drafted charles haley, he had some issues too when drafted, but he wanted to be the best and cared about football, thats the key factor that you have to judge with players and how they produced on the field, you never overlook that aspect because like charles haley said in an interview on dfwsportsbeat, ronnie lott, him, jerry rice had heart and soul, thats what you want to find in players if they have that, just like aikman, emmitt smith, and michael irvin, darren woodson had heart and desire to be the best, you find that in troubled players sometimes, so you do checks on them to see if they have grown up and want to be the best, or if its just words and if they want the success but no hard work, then you stay away from those players

just like the cowboys drafted martellus bennett,thinking he would finally grow up, now jerry jones has kinda told him how the ball bounces, so we will see

get my drift, you never overlook talent, but you have to be prepared in dealing with those issues with that player, so thats why u interview them,check their full history;

in other words, charles haley was a 4th round draft pick, you can take gambles on players in later rounds sometimes, but with those first 3 picks in the draft, you have to hit on those players

remember this guy used to play for texas

then got in trouble

i will be giving you zoners alot more info on draft guides i have, war room newsletters etc, just takes me alittle time to type it all up, but i will share it with you;

i should have some more newsletters, war room stuff etc coming about the 30th to first week of april; will type some of it that i think might be interesting for you all

because i am geared up for this draft, i feel this one is the one that puts us over the top for championship games, etc and super bowls for 5-7 years, along with some top free agents jerry jones might sign so we dont have to reach for players come draft time with needs

01/10/10 - West Texas A&M senior offensive lineman J'Marcus Webb and senior defensive end Eugene Sims helped the West All-Stars to a 16-0 victory against the East All-Stars on Friday night in the Valero Cactus Bowl before 1,125 fans at Texas A&M-Kingsville's Javelina Stadium. Webb, who started at left tackle, won the game's Jim Langer Award for offensive linemen. Sims finished with four tackles, two unassisted. A&M-Kingsville quarterback Billy Garza was the offensive MVP, going 15-of-27 for 146 yards and a touchdown. - Amarillo.com

01/08/10 - CACTUS BOWL: Webb, a 6-8, 325, native of Mesquite, Texas, was a first-team Daktronics, as well as a Don Hansen's Football Gazette first-team all-America selection. Extremely intelligent, with good athleticism for his size, Webb has been a focus of pro scouts and ranks as one of the top offensive lineman in the Division II ranks. Over 11 of 12 outings, Webb made his customary starts at left tackle (he did not start against Eastern New Mexico due to illness). Included among those starting assignments were his lining up against #-1 ranked Grand Valley State, #1-ranked Abilene Christian, #6-Central Washington, #7-Tarleton State and #10-Texas A&M-Kingsville. Against that caliber of competition, he allowed just one sack over his position for the entire season. - West Texas AM football

12/28/09 - 2009 AP LITTLE ALL-AMERICA THIRD TEAM: OL - J'Marcus Webb, senior, West Texas A&M, has been selected Third Team Little All-American (Division II, III & NAIA) for the 2009 college football season as voted on by the Associated Press. - AP Sports
