Good to see a secondary player added, he is a little undersized for a safety, but doesn't seem to miss many tackles. I don't know that he's a playmaker, but perhaps a play saver? Contract terms make him the 20th highest paid safety so don't think it was a reach.

Players getting their money right… first wave ain’t always worried about perfect scheme fits as long as the teams are shoving as much money as they can to sign the for the splash signing

Second and third waves that worry about prove it deals and where they fit will be more of that thought process
