Signed by Cowboys Cowboys sign WR Parris Campbell

We know this part is true. But it does not mean they do not care about winning.
Even they know that winning will bring in more revenue than keeping it status quo. Which in long term will lose revenue.
We just will not, or cannot see the entire scope of it. That will take years and years.

With the way TV and media hands out money to the NFL, and all the businesses out there waiting to get a sponsorship with the NFL and the teams. That is where the money flow comes in more so that just merchandise sales, and tickets.
Games will get sold out regardless.

But Jerry's ego, will not let that fail. He will eventually do what is needed. Right now he is too blinded by his 20 plus years of not addressing the biggest area of need. We all know what that is. We have not had one since. I think his jersey number was that of a beer. Or is that the other way around.
Jerry’s own words from his upcoming documentary on Netflix.

“On field results aren’t as important as keeping them talking 24/7.”

That’s the owner and GM. Winning is secondary in Dallas my friend.

His main attraction to the Cowboys is most likely a cheap asking price. It's a sure way to be in good standing with the Cowboys' FO. His abilities, or lack thereof, doesn't mean a thing to us. Attaining something for almost nothing is a sure-fired setup to make a big hit with our FO cheapskates.

We are not ashamed, in the slightest, to be seen in that light. Any player somehow surpassing total incompetence is tolerated, as long as accepting awful contract terms is your calling card. ;)

He's not that bad, is he?

Why did we sign him??? Seriously, what good is he, since we already play the Eagles twice a year and know their playbook inside and out! Is he going to give the defense clues on how to stop the " Booty Push" or whatever else they call it "??????????????

He probably signed for vet minimum or somewhere near with very little sb. He's a speed receiver and Schott wants more speed on offense. Just a cheap look. He was also good enough to make the eagles roster so the thought or hope may be that he's getting back to where he was before the injuries. Jimmy Smith took a few years before he finally got good.

Don't be surprised if my description fits either or both of them. Paying as little as what's humanly possible to pay wouldn't bother them. They'd likely consider it a sound business practice.

I’m thinking with what we heard Schotty liking how Shanahan operates his receivers that he’s envisioning Parris in a Deebo Samuel type of role.
You mean the hybrid role? Because of his 11 career carries? CeeDee had 14 just last season. I'd say Campbell is fighting for a roster spot come late August or we are in trouble

Strongly disagree with the bolded. As a matter of fact the bolded is exactly the reason they do fail. Eventually? When, another 30 years? Eventually is like 5 or 6 seasons of a thing not working, not three decades. Jerry has tied his reputation to him being the GM and the incompetent moron doesn't realize that he destroys his reputation as a "football guy" and reinforces how small his role was from a football perspective when Jimmy was here more and more with each passing season. He has had tunnel vision since the day that 90's team broke up and that was to win, but to win with himself in charge of the roster. Only a fool wouldn't see it hasn't worked and unfortunately Jerry is that fool. He has chosen his ego over this team's success and while that is his right as the owner, it is also this team's tragic flaw. EVERYONE but Jerry and his dopey son sees this.

Now the last decade or so we seem to have a desire to not spend money creeping in as well. Are profits now also taking precedent over winning a SB? Is being pretty good to good every year more important than building towards being great once in a while and winning a SB if it means rebuilding and being bad for a few years? That's the one I struggle to figure out. I think it is because there is no vision and no plan. We just build the team year to year instead of having a long term plan of what the team should look like. Jerry says all the right things but he doesn't do anything that says his priority is a SB. Now we have every player who leaves (starting with Schultz?) stating how winning isn't the most important thing in Dallas. It's all about making money and putting on a show. There has only been one constant in all of these years of failure

I care about people not suffering, but I dont run around pretending to be a doctor.

Jerry is a narcissist. There is no fixing that. We just have to hope Stephen is less of one and is more interested in the owner part and hands off the GM part.

Huge difference on your analogy.

Jerry too stubborn with his huge ego to fix this. I fear Stephen will be like Jerry, and will take over the GM role. But he could possible hire a GM, possibly promote Will McClay to do the actual GM work or more of it. Just not the title.
Or give him the title, but has limited power, but more than he has now.

We can only hope it improves come that time.
