you don't think 20 million is a bit too much for a guy that's in there when we're getting ran over, and makes plays not that often ( I respect your stance on him I really do, just playing devil's advocate)

Not really....The top DT in the league makes $34M so $20M really isnt close to top pay at the position. We will see what the numbers actually look like but if its in the low 20s its probably accurate for what OSA should get.

Also I'm not sure that $20M is as much as it sounds like these days either for a league with a cap approaching $300M

The Cowboys run game issues go way beyond their 3T, although I would agree the guy is very average at best against the run. That said though he fits like a glove in an Eberflus defense where he will be able to shoot gaps and penetrate more than have a 2 gap read/react technique.

Maybe the DC sees something in him many of us do not. with that said I still have DT at the top of the needs list for the draft.

I think it's very telling that Eberflus came in here and the first order of business was to re-sign Osa to play 3T for him, the engine of his scheme. Maybe Flus n Whitecotton can unlock Osa to a Pro Bowl level, wouldn't that be great.

Mazi n Osa started all 17 games last season, and DT was considered a need even with both guys coming back, so heck yes, add 2 DTs from the draft...this changes nothing except taking a guy at 12 unless they really want Grant.

He gave you .5 less sacks than what Jalen Carter had this year. Carter also had about 200 more snaps and is viewed as a top DT in the league and by some given the generational talent label. Very few of these interior players are racking up crazy sack numbers around the league right now. These guys are getting paid based on the analytics and pressure rates. Sacks are starting to become less and less of a factor.

Same ol' same ol' w/ Jerry. If a DT shows even a pulse, Jerry freaks out and pays him huge. Two things. 1) Shows how bad Jerry is at evaluating talent. 2) Jerry pays the current DT just so he can draft more CBs, WRs, and TEs.
