Cowboys' special teams put 10 on the field twice

i really want him to succeed and am looking for positives because of the terrible injury he has persevered through. The coverage did improve in the second half last night but all in all it has been nothing if not disappointing.

I have no faith in that man to do his job at all. The only thing we seem to do decent is coverage on the kick off and punt coverage. We almost had another punt blocked this weekend that was a major communication error. Less than four inches and we would've given up another TD.

We traded piss poor kick off and punt coverage in Bruce Read for marginal/occasional compentence in DeCamillis.

My question is how did no cowboys on the field notice? I called a timout on an extra point in highschool when I saw we only had 10 on the field.

Can NFL players not freakin' count? Call timeout or take the Delay of Game to get the 11th player on the field.

I think that the idea that he is still here due to the practice dome collapse has some merit.

Trying to remember who said it the other day on the radio... I think it was MacMahon... But he said that's not it because this winter Oakland wanted to hire him and he wanted to go, but the Cowboys wouldn't let him out of his contract.

Joe DeCamillis won’t be given the opportunity to interview for the assistant head coaching job in Oakland.

The Cowboys have denied the Raiders permission to speak with their special teams coordinator. Oakland was prepared to tack the title of assistant head coach onto his special teams duties in an attempt to pry DeCamillis loose. The Cowboys did the same thing one year ago to lure receivers coach Jimmy Robinson away from Green Bay.

The difference is the Packers allowed Robinson to leave for a better opportunity. The Cowboys did not. The club’s denial is an indication of the value they place on DeCamillis _ who has two years left on his contract _ and the likelihood that head coach Jason Garrett did not have a replacement in mind.

Dennis Allen, Oakland’s new head coach, worked with DeCamillis when the two were part of the same staff in Atlanta. It marks the second time this off-season a team has shown an interest in DeCamillis without him reaching the interview stage.

Joe doesn't have to sue the Cowboys, he'll sue the construction company who already admitted they knew the building could fail.

i would say this is high school stuff but that's an insult to high school coaches. It's inexcusable and I wish the hell somebody in the media would ask JG about it because there should be no other answer coming from him.

I really wonder how much we're practicing some of these things. It's been too long since the words discipline and detail were associated with the Cowboys. There may be some things changing but it's sure as heck not those two things.

If we really did have 10 on the field twice last week, then somebody should be looking at bench time on ST units. Harris and Lisemore? That's inexcusable, even in week 3.

We also came withing a hair's-breadth of another punt getting blocked. This was on the punt that resulted in the TB turnover on the other end of the field that was a huge play in that game. ST issues have got to be cleaned up, and now. You can tell that the team agrees if you look at who they're adding in recent signings as other players go down.

That is true, and it is puzzling how someone can forget he is on a punt or kickoff team between practice and the game. Also, someone should be counting the players.

I remember some people on this forum clamoring for DeCamillis to be the next head coach during the last legs of Wade's tenure. Heck, I admit I used to think he was a good coach.

If Oakland wanted him, Jerry shoulda bought him a plane ticket and a house out there.

What can I say? I deflect massive overreactions wherever they show up.

Forgive me if I don't choose to believe the sky has fallen at 2-1. We all should have seen enough football at this point to recognize that what a team looks like in the first quarter of the season and the last quarter of the season is usually very different. The book on how good or bad a job JG has done in 2012 is just starting.

Also note, in that very same post I give my own specific criticism of our ST play the first three weeks. Because it's possible to be critical of a unit or a personnel group or specific players without riding out the division-leading HC on yet another pretend rail.
