Probably a few of you ran across the blurb on the DMN blogs, but our official capacity is 111,947. That makes it the biggest football stadium in the U.S., but Penn State doesn't include standing room figures for Beaver Stadium which might push them over our capacity.
For what it's worth, the next biggest stadium in the NFL is FedEx with a quaint capacity of 20,000 less than Cowboys Stadium.
The new New Jersey Vagiants stadium will hold 82,000 or 83,000, but will be obsolete the day it opens thanks to the model of all things great in stadium architecture here in Texas.
On a world wide scale, excluding the various racetracks, Cowboys Stadium comes in at the third largest in the world behind a mutli-use stadium in North Korea of all places and one in India. The North Korean stadium supposedly holds 150,000. The one in India holds 125,000 or something close to it.
When we kick off in September, we'll hold the record for the largest crowd to ever see an NFL game.
