Michelle -- the other candidate's name -- was professionally dressed. She wasn't dressed to the 9's like I was in my gray suit, white shirt, and blue tie, but she was dressed professionally too.

She had some experience working with her mother's catering company. Apparently, in the old Texas Stadium suites, the organization hired out other catering companies to do the suites, and this woman helped her mom's catering company out in one of the suites.

In addition to interviewing for the suite runner position, the hiring manager said she was so impressed with my background that she had me meet with the viceroy of the banquets. His name was Luis and he spoke with either a French accent or a Hispanic accent. I really couldn't tell, but he was a man who knew his craft very, very well. He exposed my lack of true banquet planning and formal dinner serving. I mean, that's fine. It's not something I'm passionate about. It was just a way to be closer to the Cowboys at least eight Sundays a year. But the viceroy was very professional to the point of being cold, which to me indicates high professionalism.

There weren't a lot of people. I guess I was expecting a mob. There were probably about 65 people there when I was there at 2:00 PM. Maybe there were more earlier or later in the day. You also have to consider I was at the last day of the job fair.

I wish there was some way I could get an audience with someone in the PR or media department. Now that, I know I would kill. I've shot B-roll. I can edit audio. I can produce radio shows. And with my Tony Romo highlight videos, you all know I can edit video for highlight packages.

I bet you get solid tips in the suites. I do know somebody who got no tip for working a suite during the super bowl though.

That's because everything was priced evenly $10, 14. My ex worked a bar at the super bowl. She said people had stacks if benjis in their pocket and wouldn't tip for ****.

I can't speak for the Ramblers Square Dance Crew, but I bet they'd love to work the concessions and dance at halftime.
Damn, son, we got the best square dancers in the state (possibly the nation if you exclude some Kansas and Missouri clubs and the one in Toshiba, Japan).
I can even envision a square dance concessions area:

Well, that is my dream for the Stadium and to repesent my fair town of Farmers Branch, where all right-thinking people congregate for the comin apocalypse and if it don't happen, then a Calypso festival would be swell and preferable to a apocalypso world.

Yes, I did. I applied for one of the suite runner positions. When they asked me how I heard about it, I told them that I found out about it on the Zone.

It's doubtful I get it. The hiring manager was impressed with my tangential catering skills going back to ten years ago with my church youth group when we used to put on white tablecloth dinners for fundraisers, talent shows, and dinner theater. I also tried to parlay my interviews with Congressmen as an example of how I could handle VIPs in the suites, as well as my past experience at Voice of America as evidence I'm smooth with diverse cultures.

Here's how I know I didn't get it. The other applicant I was paired with had to sign a waiver stating she knew in advance about the preseason and regular season games and committed her time right then and there to Cowboys Stadium. Included on that list were the Kenny Chesney concert, the Brazil-Mexico soccer game, the Alabama-Michigan game, a Lonestar Conference (college football) game, some Glenn Beck rally, and the Cotton Bowl.

I didn't get to sign that list.

When I asked about it, the woman told me, "Oh, we'll stay in contact. We'll call you in a couple weeks."

Yeah, right.

Anyway, nothing ventured; nothing gained. The monotony continues.

Well, that sucks you didn't get the job.

I'm glad I was able to make you aware of the opportunity.

A couple of friends I know on FB posted that flier and I figured with one more day to go, somebody could at least try.
