The Cowboys defensive star admitted that playing the “trench warfare” is starting to take a toll on his body. He told Von Miller on The VonCast that playing more of a linebacker last year was better for his body, but it’s quite different this 2022 as Dallas seemingly uses him as a defensive end more often–despite Parsons’ insistence that he’s still a linebacker.

“People don’t understand that trench warfare. I’m not gonna lie, when I was playing LB a whole lot last year, my body was way more fresh. There were some plays I wouldn’t get touched. When you’re on the line, you’re getting touched every play,” the 23-year-old shared, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Just like his rookie year in 2021, Micah Parsons had a brilliant start to his campaign this 2022. Through the first 12 weeks of the season, he accumulated 12.0 sacks as he made his presence felt for the Cowboys.

However, it has been different in the past two games. Not only has Parsons failed to record a sack against the struggling Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans, but he also just had one QB hit and zero tackle for loss in that span. For comparison, he had five QB hits in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings, and prior to Weeks 13 and 14, there was just one other game when he failed to register a tackle for loss (in Week 8).

This is a perfect example of why fans shouldn't pretend to be coaches. To all of the people that wanted Micah at DE 90 percent of the time. Here are the results.

now hes blaming his coaches for his getting many goose eggs now?? when i saw him force his way back to the MN blowout to pad his stats after being injured?? Hes needing to mature bit more IMHO hes upset that hes no longer leading rh league in any defensive category's and players like Nick Bosa has passed him by, no more Lawernce/MVP talk.
MPs great, no doubrt, he will get paid like a DE and its money than most LBs make. so he won't complain when that happens,

BTW played a lot more LB against that eagles' game 1 and well he got exposed. MP is still great, but teams have adjusted to him and his teammates are benefiting and im sure he will adjust back..hes in bit of slump now hes crying over how's hes being utilized. man, thats a young player's issue. He said hed follow DQW anywhere, apparently anywhere but allowing the coaches to play him where they think is best.

hes been pouting on the sideline a bit, emotionless etc seeming not happy some games, if you haven't noticed, dont shoot the messenger. I noticed it.

we saw this with players like Kalil Mack and others. Teams will counter and you will have to counter back.

He is not blaming anyone he is giving facts. I think his maturity is fine I question the maturity of some around here.

Huh?

Aren’t the coaches the ones that have Micah actually playing DE 90% of the time?

That’s precisely what Micah’s talking about.

well

i mean hes small compared to the guys hes going against

I played on the defensive line before in high school and semi pro and one i was 215 and the other i was 225 and after moving 300 pound offensive lineman a couple times your body wears down

sorry, that's MY OPINION the pouting on sideline, the selfishness of trying to pad stats in blowout after being injured, now blame the coaching staff for his slump..id say hes still maturing, didnt say hes immature
Wasn't the eagle's game his heaviest LB snap count and that didn't go well getting down 20-0..again DQ has used his in what he believes is the best positions for each game..

but sorry if MP is now Teflon and cant say a negative observation but hey lets start another Zeke and Dak sux thread, those are popular. ive seen this place actually criticize Dak for being sometimes emotionless on the sideline during games but IM pointing out the fact that Parsons has been doing that the last few games. Huh double standard?

I think that was GB. Mainly because Barr was hurt. I could be wrong.

I knew it would not take long before idiot fans went after Parson. Guy has been outstanding and plays hurt does not want to come out of game not because he is selfish. You can claim anything you choose but that is complete non sense. You are right a lot of people talk trash about many players on this team and frankly much of it is garbage.

you can say whatever you like and are entitled to your opinion, but folks don't have to agree. he did not blame the coaches, or mention his numbers, just said that it takes a toll. like we've all said.

Yup.

Very strange how fans will go out of their way to come to weird conclusions rather than reexamine their thoughts and adjust. Very sad.

To those many who argued against it: Is there any chance you now understand why several of us thought he should be a LB?

going AFTER?? that's a factual observation, seriously this place goes "after" all our stars on the dailty .lmao good try i luv MP but he is still maturing body mind and sole going from no football in 2020 to 17 games league where hes the MAN and hes giddy when its all going well, seems to be slumping and pouting..

Ironic how much Prescott, Zeke, Lamb and other get torn a part on here but MP is Teflon????..wait until hes making 25MIL that will change LOL saw it with Tank, these game where hes not producing, once that $$$ is out there, sharks will come out to feed in the zone..

Im standing by my statements.

BTW oh LBs don't get hurt ask LVE and Lee how that goes,
BTW somehow making him a LB again will fix his body , what did he talk to xavier woods about no way you can go 100% on every play..maybe hes was correct, that didnt go over well here but thats what 11 is asking for :)):popcorn:

Ive seen him on the sidelines outing emotionless etc like i said he is complaining its called being passive aggressive, hes making excuses. I luv 11 but thats how i noticed the last 4 games.

I think Micah needs to play lb more often and and move him around like a weapon on the line every game.. we could use his speed to hopefully stop the run.
right DQ all of Sudden got stupid.. lmao genius to stupid. nothing to do with 11 at all..must be the coaches.. nothing to do with teams have adjusted.,.one of his worst games of the season was the first 3 qtrs of the eagles game and he played more LB than DE in that game.
