Cowboys star Micah Parsons reveals harsh reality of playing ‘trench warfare’

Against the Vikings, he was sitting out on first down quite a bit and I figured it was to keep him a bit more fresh as teams run on Dallas a lot of first down and he is built like an LB (245 lbs), not a DE. It was also the first game they made him a full-time DE as he mostly played off the ball vs the Packers the previous week. Having 300-pound linemen leaning on you every play at 245 pounds has to take its toll.

They are wasting his talents lining him up at RDE most of the game, he needs to be moving around making it difficult for defenses to figure out where he is and how to account for him. It leads to confusion on the offensive line and creates opportunities for other players as well.
Corner... strong safety... whatever. Move him around and keep him clean to make plays. That is an exaggeration, but you get the idea.

Well... no ****. I have saying this post after post. Some dummies think he is a DE. Tossing him against the biggest baddest dude on the other team negates what he is great at. It takes his speed away and screws with his instinctive personality.

Normally double team

Been saying this all along....he's to small to take that beating every week....Much Parsons can't take a fulltime beating....both of these guys are great players and instrumental to our success..,they need to be managed right.

I am starting to worry about Micah. He looks like he is not playing with the same motor he was playing with at the beginning of the season. He looks frustrated, hurt or dealing with low morale or something. I don't know but early in the season he could not be denied, not he kind of makes his first move and if it doesn't work he kind of gives up. I will say this, the guys gets more abuse with no flags than any player I have seen. The Texans held him, shove hands into his face and throat, and even cut him at the knees a few times. I can see why he is frustrated. The refs are not protecting him at all.

His body is wearing down because he's facing 300lb linemen. He's not built to be a defensive end. Through the course of the season, the constant pounding from single, double and triple teams has worn on him to the point where he's tired. That's likely why he's not smiling on the sidelines. That's why he doesn't have much to say. He's probably trying to conserve energy.

He's probably hurt too. I think his groin is still bothering him.

It's up to Quinn and the coaches to protect him, not the refs. McCarthy and Quinn need to be in the ears of the refs before the game telling them to watch out for the other team because film study shows they use a lot of "high hands."

Quinn needs to limit Parsons' reps - which he seems to be doing. But he needs to scheme Micah so Micah's not consistently facing a mammoth LT off the edge.

We have plenty of adequate DE to let him play LB. I suggested in the off season that he would tire and get injured at DE. Let's the others play DE, Micha can rush from the middle if need be.

The Center and guards will **** their pants as he blasts up the middle. Team game.

.I bet with him saying that. He'll see more play at LB now, maybe 50/50.

Rather have the guy fresh then wasted.

now hes blaming his coaches for his getting many goose eggs now?? when i saw him force his way back to the MN blowout to pad his stats after being injured?? Hes needing to mature bit more IMHO hes upset that hes no longer leading rh league in any defensive category's and players like Nick Bosa has passed him by, no more Lawernce/MVP talk.

MPs great, no doubrt, he will get paid like a DE and its money than most LBs make. so he won't complain when that happens,

BTW played a lot more LB against that eagles' game 1 and well he got exposed. MP is still great, but teams have adjusted to him and his teammates are benefiting and im sure he will adjust back..hes in bit of slump now hes crying over how's hes being utilized. man, thats a young player's issue. He said hed follow DQW anywhere, apparently anywhere but allowing the coaches to play him where they think is best.

hes been pouting on the sideline a bit, emotionless etc seeming not happy some games, if you haven't noticed, dont shoot the messenger. I noticed it.

we saw this with players like Kalil Mack and others. Teams will counter and you will have to counter back.

Did you bump your head? It happens as we age.

OC’s will plan their best to have a big body assigned to him wherever he lines up, up to Quinn to scheme up opportunities to find gaps and one on one with running backs in protection.

It’s a tough situation reducing his reps at de makes him less of a game changer.

Clearly it is taking a toll on him. Would he prefer to play LB and make 8 million per year of play DE and make 28 million per year?

This is exactly why he needs his snap count reduced. There was no reason for him to be in the game in 4th quarter when this team is blowing out the Vikings. He shouldn't of even had to play a snap against Houston but the team had play like a dog. Guys like him should be used conservatively when the game is in hand.
