Cowboys still could sign restricted free agent
The Cowboys have done nothing in free agency so far, but they still have time. Wade Phillips said Wednesday that the Cowboys could sign a restricted free agent to an offer sheet.

They have until April 15.

"It remains to be seen, but we still have some time left as far as restricted guys and how much market there will be for them," Phillips said. "In the past, there hasn't been a lot of movement as far as restricted players, because you end up paying so much to get one and the other team can match."

The Cowboys intend to re-sign their own restricted free agents they have tendered. They hope to reach a long-term agreement with Miles Austin, although Stephen Jones conceded that the uncertainty of the Collective Bargaining Agreement makes it more difficult to do a deal now.

"He's definitely going to be a good player," Phillips said. "He had a great year this year, so I think he has a great future ahead of him. I know he wants to be in Dallas, and we want him here. ...Miles is to the point where he's a budding young star, and we want to keep him."
