We are bringing back the core!!!

I really thought Bennett was gone. I still sort of do . . . .

He didn't seem to want to remain with the Cowboys.

I hope he's gone, i don't like his attitude...not the attitude of a winner.

Good grief! We as fans need to step back and give up our input on things. It doesn't matter anyway. Everything we want as fans never happens at VR. Yes, we are just fans, and not coaches and scouts, but does anybody at VR really have a clue what they are doing?

I'm sure FA will go the exact opposite of what is speculated and will get a bunch of has beens and third tier players. By the time The season comes along we as fans are so starved for football that we hope it is our year. Meh

Wouldnt mind him back for a reasonable price, his blocking skills at the TE position are second to none.

I expect we told him we'd like him back as our #2 with a primary responsibility for block - which he does really well. We likely then told him what sort of money we were looking at.

That is a productive discussion. If he's not getting #1 TE offers we likely don't want to see him leave for a #2 blocking TE type job somewhere else.

Well, it certainly would prevent us from having to fill yet another hole.

Maybe his agent has called around and he's realized his best chance to get paid is in Dallas at this point.

I wanted him gone, make no mistake, but if he's back and continues to open up big holes in the running game I won't be too upset.

Just catch the damn football when you have a chance to make a play, holy bajeebus. And no more alley oop INTs.

What amount? if he is being paid as a backup blocking TE which don't get paid squat then thats fine.

How much did the Cowboys sign him for?

(stupid cowboy fans)

Even less cap room and this is how they want to spend it?

From what we all know, it sure seems the Cowboys waited until right at the end to pursue him. Seems like the organization was o.k. for him to test FA.

Interesting turn of events . . . . if Watkins is correct.

They probably want to go ahead and put something on the table before free agency opens.

What that allows them to do is basically set a baseline that they imagine a lot of other teams won't go over for a backup guy who's made pretty much no big catches in the last 3 years.

If someone wants to overspend for blocking or for potential, then they can be our guest. My 2 cents on the thinking.

This is going to be the worst offseason ever. Wait until tomorrow night when Carr/Finnegan take their talents elsewhere, this place is gonna lose it

Yes, perhaps. Who knows, maybe Bennett wanted to leave because he also felt the Cowboys made no effort to retain him? (His ego was dented.) With the Cowboys making him an offer, he "feels the love".
