Per Dallas Cowboys.com, Dallas will sign DT Corvey Irvin, a former 3rd round pick by Carolina in 2009.

They also cut DE Jason Vega and G Phillipkeith Manley from the practice squad; and signed rookie tackle John Wentzel to the practice squad.

Lots of mid round picks of other teams out there

at least they are trying anything, it may not work but it gives us people who wrote the team off , another view that they arent running scared.

Here's one way to look at this: a draft "expert" from 2009 would look at the Cowboys and see George Selvie, Drake Nevis, Everette Brown, and Corvey Irvin on the roster and think we had the best young defensive line in football. Ha, ha ha......:(

They can literally rename the defensive line the Land of Misfit Toys.

Sunday night there was at least 2-3 plays where I saw #71 Everrett Brown (had to look that up) get pushed onto his butt by the LT or LG. I'd never seen a Dlineman get pushed back like that.

When you have so many injuries to projected starters, it's tough to give a fair assessment. And at this point, Dallas is going into games w/ guys that were unemployed for a reason. I don't doubt the heart some of these guys have (like Heath), but physically, they're just being completley overwhelmed by opposing offenses. No scheme or amount of coaching can fix physical weakness.

Probably because they had a 6-1, 263 lb DE playing DT.

I don't know how much Rod Marinelli is getting paid this year, but he's earning every penny of it.

I think they are at the point of needing somebody, anybody to till in on the dline. These guys that they are bring in are not available due to bad luck. They are not NFL quality players. I think the team is turning over the dlinemen at such a rapid rate because they are looking at as many as possible with hopes of any improvement.

Gotta admit -- we're doing an exemplary job of shaking the bushes for someone, anyone, with a hint of talent.

For the defense it's 1989 all over again.
