Cowboys to trade up for Peterson?

Man, I know we have a hard on for Peterson, but I really don't think it's the smartest decision to trade up for him. Unless he falls to 7--which he very well could--then whatever, but anything higher than that would be a little too much for this team,

Even though I haven't been a proponent of Smith at 9, I'd rather have him and the rest of our draft picks than Peterson and a very limited amount of picks.

would be a really dumb move to go up that high. We take a corner just to have to release your most productive corner in Newman, while failing to address other needs. Seems too rich.

all this talk about trades right now is non sense.

The draft needs to hurry up and happen. I hate that the draft gets pushed back later and later every year.

Here, here. It can't get here fast enough.

Giving up an extra third is fine, but anything else is beyond stupid. For the cost of drafting him why not sign Asomugha? It would cost about the same thing and he's proven.

I would not put this past Jerry in a second. Jerry has never taken a Olineman in the 1st, because Jerry likes to make a splash, and sell tickets. He's neglected the Oline for years and we are now paying for it. He want's a Romo friendly offense, he needs to get an Oline.

That's exactly what I'm scared of in this draft.

true but I think Garrett has a lot of power in this draft.

great point. He already knows Ryan's system he could be the "qb" of our seconday would help mentor jenkins we resign sensi and bring in a low cost guy like ebram Buys more time to see what we have in AOA . still wouldnt mind grabbing a johhny patrick type to develop in the 4th round . but at least we could use the first 3 rounds to fill the o-line and d-line holes.

I approve this move if he can play Tackle.

Whether Jason has any power or not.

Has it occurred to anyone that maybe he really likes and wants Peterson as well?

If we do trade up for Peterson it does not mean Jason was against the pick and Jerry over ruled him.

Just because Jerry hasn't draft an OL in the 1st round doesn't mean that he hasn't wanted to from time to time.

I think in the past with Wade, Gailey, and Campo your right. But with Jimmy and Bill thay both had the power on draft day. Jerry is in the mode again so thats why I think Garrett has control and power. Jerry has the last word but I think he will listen very closely to Garrett.

You are probably right it probably is Jason's call (I doubt it), but it would be really dumb to blow your draft on one player. Like I said anything more than an extra third would be just as bad as the Galloway and Roy Williams trades.

yep and if Garrett is for it then its all good, but I don't think Jerry wants to trade up just to make a splash. I think after last season Jerry doesn't want to make splashs, I think he wants to win.
