Though the Dallas Cowboys were pro-active in free agency this offseason, none of the players are likely to crack the list of their all-time best acquisitions.

FRISCO - Two ways to look at Dallas Cowboys' free agency this offseason:

1. The bad: While two-time Pro Bowl performer Jaire Alexander signed with the Baltimore Ravens, the Cowboys settled for the Green Bay Packers' "other" cornerback - Robert Rochell - who has bounced around five teams in four seasons.

2. The good: Their class is an improvement over 2024, which was highlighted by underwhelming linebacker Eddie Kendricks.

Before we talk about this too much today and I'm betting there's going to be two other posts on Alexander , He wasn't coming here not for $6 million...
read the story and know he as a free agent had a chance to go where he wanted, he wanted to be with the Ravens and Lamar Jackson apparently, they were college teammates really wanted to be there, he chose to give them a discount, and he went there willingly and he wasn't going to go anywhere else....

he also has injury prone, we can't have another injury prone corner ,where we're waiting on another injury prone corners to get back here, not saying I wouldn't have minded them taking a look at Alexander, he chose where he was going and nobody was going to change his mind he's already being paid a lot of his salary from Green Bay this is just frosting on the cake as they say...

The people are going to read what they want into this and the fact that Alexander is going to want to get paid big whether it's in season or before next season he's looking for his last big contract giving his injury situation and the way the Cowboys have too much injuries at that position this was never going to happen...

Now back to your original post how do you know that none of these free agents are somehow going to surprise you and be one of our best free agent acquisitions??

You don't know,

which by the way Kendricks was a very good player way above expectations I would have brought him back but apparently the new coaching staff sees the players they brought in as better options to run their defense, but Kendrick was a very good player last year his stat line was great...

Let's not jump to conclusions that one of these free agents are going to end up having a year like say Zach Baun did last year, dude did nothing his whole career was not a big free agent acquisition and there were no expectations... He did nothing his prior three years in the NFL and end up being basically a pro bowler and got paid big changes whole career by changing teams.

Sanborn or Murray could possibly do this, others are possibility's...

So, nobody in here can say that one of these free agents might not shock you and end up in the Pro Bowl this year you just don't know!!

that's why we watch..

Unless we're missing something, however, none of the signees will crack the list of the Cowboys' Top 5 all-time free-agent signings:

5. Leonard Davis, 2007
4. Terrell Owens, 2006
3. Jay Novacek, 1990
2. Nate Newton, 1986
1. Deion Sanders, 1995
Meion #1 on this list has to be a joke. Bill Bates deserves to be on that list more than a 5 year highly overpaid player for the team.
