Your Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable U.S.-based sports franchise, according to Forbes magazine's annual rankings. Jerry Jones' team is valued at $1.65 billion, according to the magazine. Only Manchester United of the English Premier League is worth more worldwide, $1.87 billion

Article says Wash and NE have the largest revenues. Anyone know if this just based on pre-Jerry World ticket, parking, beverage revenue?

I doubt they considered the cost of a pizza at the new stadium.

Cowboys top NFL's rich list, Raiders fall to the bottom

September 2, 2009 | 4:56 pm

Forbes magazine, famous for its rich lists, just came out with its evaluations of the 32 NFL teams. No surprise, Jerry Jones' Dallas Cowboys tops the list with a current value of $1.65 billion.

In second place are the Washington Commanders at $1.55 billion, followed by the New England Patriots ($1.361 billion), New York Giants ($1.183 billion) and their neighbors, the New York Jets ($1.17 billion).

Overall, the Commanders are the most profitable NFL club, with operating income of $90.3 million; while the Cowboys posted operating income of only $9.2 million--perhaps because of the cost of opening their new mega-stadium.

Only two NFL teams are unprofitable: the Seattle Seahawks, who lost $2.4 million, and the biggest loser of them all, the Oakland Raiders. Al Davis' once wondrous franchise is now the least valuable NFL club at a "mere" $797 million, plus the Raiders had the biggest operating loss in the league at $5.7 million.

I can't believe the Jags make a profit.

They never sell out their games and are always the team picked most likely to be relocated to L.A.

So what? Jerry knows how to make money! i would rather the Cowboys be winning playoff games and championshps, than bragging on Jerry making money. but i guess we Cowboy fans will grab on to anything since we haven't won a playoff game in over a decade.

Yes me again. im tired of seeing the cowboys listed with the Texans and Lions, as one of only 3 NFL teams that have not won a playoff game since 1996. it makes me sick. and it should make you sick too. unless you like losing?
