Trade a nobody for a nobody seems like an even deal.
Cowboys Acquire CB From Patriots By Trading Ben Bass
Posted 5 minutes ago
OXNARD, Calif. – The Cowboys have already made a move to bolster the cornerback position after learning of Orlando Scandrick’s four-game suspension.
The team has traded for cornerback Justin Green in a move with the Patriots, who received defensive tackle Ben Bass in return.
Green (5-10, 200) spent last year with the Patriots both on the practice squad twice with a two-game stint on the active roster. Green joined New England as a rookie free agent in 2013 out of Illinois.
Green will join a cornerback position including Brandon Carr, Morris Claiborne, Sterling Moore,B.W. Webb and Terrance Mitchell, until Scandrick returns in Week 5.
Wait just a darn minute. Last season, I was told Ben Bass was a starting caliber player whose presence on the defensive line would've made a night and day difference.
Makes more sense
There goes the last hope to have a truly dominant defense
Long live the legend!
Ben Bass, what a shame. He could barely practice let alone play in a actual game before picking up an injury, hope he has better luck in New england.
If you posted this out of the blue a few months ago, you would have been dogpiled.
He'll probably be an all pro.
Well, with the DL being a source of strength again this year it was a no brainer.
I am willing to bet we will add more linemen to the roster after they cut from other teams.
FWIW, Broaddus talked about this on TC.
He didn't give any details as far as who or what was up for the trade but he did say that the other team was interested in Bass because they were running out of bodies themselves.
We gave up THE Ben Bass though.
He'll probably be an all-pro next year .
Maybe he picked up some pointers from the Patriots about how to run a team that Jerry can scrounge off him
LOL, the one and only.
