It should work well when he is getting only 2-3 targets a game in his walk year.

yes, they absolutely do. i’d have preferred they add a stud there, but they added a mountain of a man, resigned an ascending osa, added solomon thomas and the dl as a whole is stocked with talent. coupled with an explosive offense and teams just running the ball all game got much more difficult

3rd, 5th and 6th is low risk? This is a team that refuses to build in FA and they keep giving away picks.

A 5th and 6th is nothing. They will get comp picks to make up for that and the pick swap will help with that to.

They just wasted a 3rd on Gholstin and Wright and a 2nd on Joseph not too long ago. You have to do something. We complain when they don’t something then complain out of fear of what? Losing a 3rd rounder? We can’t be scared of uncertainty or risk.

There are prominent posters complaining IN THIS THREAD who at some point in the last month have openly stated trading for Pickens would be a good move and “that’s why Jerry won’t do it” (exact quote from one of them). What’s more is moderation protects these individuals and doesn’t allow for call outs and names to be named.

Teams have to take chances, ask Philly about AJ Brown whom they gave up a 1st rd pick for, people tend to forget he missed several games due to mental issues that prior yr.

Can not talk out of both sides of your mouth, this team needed a WR to pair with CD, Pickens is a huge upgrade to this WR room and the compensation is about right for his type of talent and ability. Hopefully, he fits in well and they eventually extend his contract. The team and WR room just got substantially better!

Majority of the Steelers subreddit, which is popping off toward 500+ replies is unhappy.

They certainly have some who are glad he’s gone but most are upset because they feel the team just gave up on next season.

Some Zoners will, predictably, hate this move. Of course, it will be the same regulars who have been wailing since the draft that the team isn’t serious about winning because they didn’t address WR2.

I have serious questions about it simply because Pickens is a complete loose cannon and idiot and we aren't exactly known for being able to reel in guys like this.

It's a very reasonable take on the acquisition. You can't just ignore that aspect of the trade just because you like Pickens' skill set.

I do not get it. These guys complain we don’t make moves or we suck at trades. We don’t trade much and get an actual top player in his prime. I don’t get the outcry.

Thanks, I have not seen us getting a 3rd round pick back being reported anywhere yet.
If we gave a 3rd for him for one year, I dont like it.

The 3rd round comp pick I mentioned would be contingent on him having a good year and Jerry not being able to resign him while he leaves in free agency next year.
