TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

doesn't change the fact they were top 10 just 3 years ago. then they fell two years ago. then they made changes...we tend to do the same thing over and over and expect different results. eagles have drafted and invested heavily on defense. the top ranking defense, had their first 5 picks on defensive side of the ball. they let players go when its time not worrying about dead cap (as jerry tends to keep everyone to the end of their contract).

I beg to differ, you need talent on defense as well. all the Mazi's of the world aren't going to make a difference.
Didn't say you don't need talent on Defense but scheme and coaching can have a bigger impact. Look at our Mike Nolan defense vs Quinn. You can mask weaknesses better on that side of the ball than on offense.

The biggest change the Eagles made was bringing in Vic Fangio. He took the same players that seemed to suck and turned them around really quick.

Our defense has enough talent to be a good unit. Do we have the coaching to be?

Teams win SB's, not Qb's. The Eagles just won a SB with one of the best teams in history... not the best QB. Our team works better with a solid WR room.
Teams win SBs when all the players do thier job and perform well. That is made harder when the most important position on the field doesn't do well.

The truth of the matter is that Dallas is under pressure to welcome anyone with even a fair chance to succeed as a WR. This team needed anyone with a fighter's chance to succeed. That's pretty much what they've managed to do with a trade that got them an experienced WR who's had three years of good production in GB. In Dallas, he'll most likely be welcomed as a potential hero.

Admittedly, we got someone with a spotty past in GB. He should be welcomed by a team desperate for anyone with the talent he possesses. If he responds to the welcome that he's going to receive upon his arrival with the Cowboys, it will work out nicely. Let's all hope he'll put his best foot forward for us. He'll likely make it extremely hard for Cee Dee to be double, and triple covered upon his arrival.

Not a fan of the player but can't deny the talent...... For those hating this and talking about defense, Who could you guys have gotten for a 3rd and 5th that could change our trajectory??? And even then who is out there trading Talented D players??? takes 2 to tango....you can want the defensive player all you want but if there is no deal to be had then what??? you wait till next draft and hope you hit on a d player with said picks 3 and 5???

It works both ways. Every player on those teams did their part to lose those playoff games... not just Dak.

Put 100% of the blame on Dak if you wanna, I won't fight ya. Just don't make that argument in real life, anyone with a grain of football knowledge will disagree with you.

Its interesting that you think having a QB that does not freeze up in the playoffs is not an important part of that.

But then again looking at your posting history ....... its not really interesting.
You didnt read a word I said.

"That team didn't allow Hurts to freeze up or show flaws... the RB, WR's, coaching, OL, defense all had his back."

When a team plays together as a team, it overcomes mistakes.

Dumb move. A third round pick for a guy who will go to free agency next year seems really expensive. I could see if this team was one piece away but we still have major problems.

Well, at least we are in the 4th round next year for a change.

I think Pickens is worth the gamble, but I am also worried the Cowboys gave up a 3rd round pick for a one year rental.
that 3rd round pick = a 4 year starter.

Pickens is gone after 2025. UFA.

Plus the 3M+ cap hit for 2025.

Pickens has the talent to be a great WR on the field. We need that. Pickens also has a talent to poison a locker room. We don’t need that. Which one did we get?

I’ll withhold a grade until we see the entire package in action on /off field.

I truly believe he's gonna have a big year.

He's finally on a "offense first" team and he's got a #1 WR to get him that single coverage. ........and for all of Daks blemishes it will be the best Qb that's throwing to him since he was drafted

Normally I would have said Mahomes or Allen were the best Qbs that have thrown to him but Pickens hasn't made a pro-bowl, lol
I just can't see it with Dak. He SHOULD have a monster year opposite CD. But he has to remain healthy, he has to learn the offense and keep his head in the game, and Dak has to stay upright too. It's a lot to ask, unfortunately.

Pickens is a head case. Good luck with him. Great talent, but a diva. Pouts, quits on plays, doesn't block.
People are acting like this isn't ALSO true about Pickens. Yes, he's got talent, but by all legit reports - inside the locker room, other players, the coaches and yes "the media" - he's a legit headcase. Now he's 24 so there's "room for growth", but if he hasn't matured, wait until we need him to block and he gives up on a play because Dak missed him wide open on the previous play.

Dak crumbled in San Fran and he’s not capable of getting in a shootout.

Dak getting paid is the problem. Don’t tell me about how important the team is then tell me Dak deserves Josh Allen money.

Especially when Cooper Rush wins and loses the same games as Dak.

It was a great trade. You think you would get Pickens for a 3rd on a long term deal?
A 3rd and a 5th for a one year look-see on a hot-head diva that a blue chip franchise and well-respected coached passed on? That is your "great trade"?

If we sign him to a contract and he helps the team for 3-5 years, I would agree with you. But it's not a slam dunk. Right now, we gave up prime draft picks for...a one year experiment with a bonafide head case.
