TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

Pickens is going to love watching CeeDee Lamb being targeted 100 plus times this year.

I don't get how they think this works.

Their Qb does not freeze up in the playoffs
They didnt have to rely soley on their QB's abilities in the playoffs and SB. Their defense didn't get ran up on, their coaching staff held it together... their TEAM won the SB, not their qb.

That can be said about every team that has won the SB. Even QB greats didnt do it all themselves.

imagine if Parsons is down...wait we know what happens, this defense can't make any stops....

we had the #1 scoring offense two years ago and got blown out in post season, because our defense sucked and our offense got man handled. we have seen that movie already. we know how it ends.
So which DT are you so upset we passed on?

Would this DT matter in your scenario if Parson was down?

True but then you and CATCH should ask yourself why such an apparent big time stud WR is available for just a third.

And therein lies the concern many fans have.

No doubt Pickens is a talent. And I am usually on board with taking chances on guys with warts. But this guy couldn't be reeled in by the Steelers and Tomlin, so I have real concerns that Jerry and his laid back atmosphere in Dallas aren't going to be able to reign in Pickens.
No one is doubting that this dude comes with serious risk, but the point is the cost wasn't that much. I have significantly more issue with the Mingo trade than I do this one just because the risk/reward didnt seem to be there. This is a low cost move that could have a massive payoff for the Cowboys. My bigger issue is you only get Pickens with one year of control.

The fact that you even need to ask that means we acquired a legit weapon.

I guess you would rather have a guy who is happy to just be on the team.

Like Devonte Smith and AJ Brown..... Hurts only threw for 3k yards last year and I don't hear them complaining.

Get Michael Irvin to be Pickens' personal adviser on how to be a team player and respect the coaches. Get Charles Haley to speak to him how to go from malcontent (Haley took a piss on a SF coach's car) to a champion. Talent wise, Pickens is better than Gallup before he hurt his knee, better than Terrence Williams.
You need to read up on Charles Haley's time with the Cowboys a little more...

The fact many of you are ignoring a pretty big piece of the puzzle and why he was even available in the first place despite being such an uber talent is funny.

I think the outcry comes from the fact this franchise has largely struggled with reigning in out of control players. And we just gave up a third round pick for a guy who is very likely to have a meltdown here in Dallas. I think that's why some are concerned.
It’s a third round pick. For a team that has used third round picks in Nashin Wright and Chauncey Gholston.

I’ve been following Pickens for the past two years and yes he is an idiot. And yes he’s immature. However I don’t question the dog in him. I don’t question his heart or his will to win.

If you guys want to be scared he may not work out? Fair.

But being afraid of losing a 3rd rounder for him? Is ridiculous.

You are the same poster who hypes up Howie Roseman…..who traded the same compensation for Dotson. A inferior player who had become malcontent in a weak Commanders receiver room.

essentially jerry is just throwing mid round draft picks at players because he can't draft....

this move doesn't get us any closer to post season success....
That's complete nonsense. Dallas is actually one of the better drafting teams in the league. Lots of things so complain about with Jerry, but drafting isn't one of them.

I truly believe he's gonna have a big year.

He's finally on a "offense first" team and he's got a #1 WR to get him that single coverage. ........and for all of Daks blemishes it will be the best Qb that's throwing to him since he was drafted

Normally I would have said Mahomes or Allen were the best Qbs that have thrown to him but Pickens hasn't made a pro-bowl, lol
Exactly. And if he plays his card right he can get paid. It may be here or may not but i think he’s gonna be fine. Guys know how right in a contract year.

Yet Bills and Ravens are consistently looking for wide receivers and the champs have Devonta and Aj Brown.

And let’s remember what happened in the SB. Barkley had 25 carries for 55 yards.
They get to the playoffs & SB because they can run the ball though. Sure, everyone wants more talent at every position. It doesn't change where their first focus is though.
