TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

It's at worst an incomplete. Give the guy one season with Dak to make a final judgement.
sure. i hope he's great. i'm making a prediction he won't be. even more difficult now with a bonafide stud in front of him. but yes, lets wait and see.

Kinda signals giving our 4th this year for Mingo wasn’t a genius move.
I can't nod my head yes, and I can't nod my head no.

It will be a genius move if it works, and it won't be a genius move if it doesn't. But that's all yet to be seen.

I'll say this in their favor... if indeed he was that highly rated on their draft board, the fact that he's under contract long enough to get a full assessment makes him worth a 5th for sure, and then if a 5th for sure, then a 4th possibly... again... if he proves to be an asset.

Yes, he's going to get fewer snaps now, but then again, you're probably going to (unfortunately) have enough injuries over the course of 17 games that Mingo will have a chance to show out.

Cliffs notes: The jury is going to meeting for most of this next season before rendering a legit verdict on that question.

Brown isn't in the same stratosphere as Pickens when it comes to being a diva and unhinged.

The Steelers didn't want to pay him, in large part, because they couldn't trust him. It's really that simple.
hes UFA after the season.

Saves the Steelheads 3.6M in cap, if its designated a post june trade.

I’m trying to make the best of this deal. I suspect your sentiments are all too accurate.

I think they would. But like I said earlier this is a trend for the Steelers…they did not want to pay Juju, Claypool or Diontae Johnson. Are all these guys malcontents? Because we know he put up with Antonio Brown for 8 years and he was far worse.
Claypool was another diva baby that they had soured on. In that final season he had been benched for an on the field incident with another player and then later famously celebrated a catch when the Steelers had no timeouts and he let the clock run out costing them a chance at a win. He got fried by the organization and fans for that. Steelers did sign Smith-Schuster to a 2nd contract, it was a one year deal. He got injured a missed a bulk of that season and despite coming back for the playoffs, the Steelers simply let him walk (where he then signed another one year deal with KC).

What's funny here is that this isn't he said, she said stuff here. Pickens antics have been out in the open. Steelers wanted him gone due to that and we obliged them.

All you crybabies would be whining if we just traded for LT.

We traded for guy that took a piss on the GMs car and I think that worked out pretty well.
This team needed a WR2. Most rookies arent stepping up big time as a rookie. We just got an absolute stud, 24 year old still on a rookie deal for a FUTURE draft pick.

Im ecstatic about this deal.

I’m thinking most of your responses should start with, “Finally”!

Giving up a 3rd for first round talent to me is a win. Ask yourself where Pickens would have been ranked in this year’s WR draft class? He can run by people, has a great catch radius, will give you Gallupesque toe-drag swag, and just has that juice.

Little bit of a diva and mild malcontent at times…yep. Should this be shocking coming from a topflight receiver? I get the culture thing, but you can’t have a locker room full of choir boys and if your staff is worth a crap, you’ll know how to handle it.

I’ve said for years the Cowboys needed to stop playing square peg in round hole in relation to how they treated the WR#2 position. This helps Lamb, Dak, the O-line, and the running game which will be somewhat by committee (could be decent committee).

If you want to play Negative Nancy it could be regarding contractual terms. But so what (yep…it’s that easy to say, other teams do it) and why put yourself through that. Figure it out later.

Don’t you want to see what it’s like to finally have a very legitimate target opposite Lamb?
He's UFA after the season.

Likely not a good trade for us, as he will be leaving for $$$$, and we lose a potential 4 yr starter with the draft pick.

I know George Pickens. Great player. Prima Donna extraordinaire. Coming to the Cowboys and into this culture is not wise.
But, we shall see shant we.

i doubt he beats out MIngo for WR2.

Dude is a head case. and he's leaving after the season. UFA.

The price is what gets me.

We now have given up a 4th rounder for a total project in Mingo and a 3rd for a guy that if I were to put odds on it, it around 80% likely to melt down here in Dallas.

I'd have taken a flier on Pickens if his cost was like a 5th rounder or worse but I just can't shake the feeling we got burned here again.
This trade is awesome and Mingo is good depth. Best offseason ever.

They didnt have to rely soley on their QB's abilities in the playoffs and SB. Their defense didn't get ran up on, their coaching staff held it together... their TEAM won the SB, not their qb.

That can be said about every team that has won the SB. Even QB greats didnt do it all themselves.

you did not answer what i said ...... i said their QB does not freeze up in the playoffs, not that he has to do everything

You can win a Superbowl with a QB that is not great ....... but you cannot win with a QB who freezes up the first half against a winning team in the playoffs.
