yeah, you really didn't have to go for a player like this if you truly intend to be a power running team first & foremost.Run the ball? Change the culture? Then add a malcontent WR one year rental.
understood. he’s never been able to manage wideouts though. When Mike Tomlin gives up on you, you're a problem.
Ehh….I don’t think this is a “can’t handle” move. He had Big Ben who was an idiot among other things, had Antonio CTE Brown….he put up with them for years. Meanwhile he had less tolerance for Diontae, Juju, Claypool and Pickens.Well which is it?
Do you want to “run the ball” and “change the culture” or trade for a malcontent second number one WR who one of the most respected coaches in the league couldn’t handle?
Joe Milton can throw an orange 110 yardsAgreed but we don't have a QB that excels at dropping those balls in there along the sidelines.
It’s 2025….I never bought they were trying to be a power running team unless they wanted to be one of the worst teams in the league.yeah, you really didn't have to go for a player like this if you truly intend to be a power running team first & foremost.
There’s no throw Dak can’t make. He hasn’t had a deep threat guy. He had no issue getting the ball to a guy like Brice Butler who is nowhere near the player Pickens is.Agreed but we don't have a QB that excels at dropping those balls in there along the sidelines.
Yep. And if Lamb gets hurt we don’t have pray and hope for Tolbert to save usWe now have options in the wr room.
Not a new era , not with the same don't know what he's doing GM.I don’t understand how this can’t fire you up! These Cowboys are young and hungry, gonna be exciting to watch. It’s a new era!
Yeah I think it grew sour in Pitt. And we can say what we want about Dallas but these type of receivers do well here. Also, people need to stop pretending Pickens is some sort of deviant. You’d think he had multiple felony arrests or something. He’s a typical diva WR and his controversies extremely ho hum by the standards of professional athletes.
Or maybe Jerry who is more sensitive to criticism than a high school girl on instagram, pulled the trigger because of those stories on top of the ones stating how we added no WRs this offseason and wasted our 4th rounder on a guy he kept trying to bring up during the draft cycle as relevant even though everyone knew he was not. Who cares the reason. We are where we are. Jerry needs to get credit for this one, just like he deserved for the Gilmore and Cooks trades. You can't predict the future on how trades will end up, but IMO the risk/reward here makes it worth it to me. Yes, he may crash and burn, but it was probably our biggest hole left (followed closely by a decent run stopping NT) and the talent with Pickens is undeniable. Thumbs up for Jerry here IMO.Can we just merge this post with the other Pickens post about blowing smoke on trades?
Maybe we can just add oops to the title.
agreed. I was referring to the ordained starter but yes if Milton goes in you could see the first 118 yard touchdown pass!!Joe Milton can throw an orange 110 yards
He had a hell of a offseason. This move itself puts it into a good offseason and they don’t seem to be done. Not a new era , not with the same don't know what he's doing GM.
It's 2025, most defenses are built to play the pass. It's an ideal time to be a power running team. It’s 2025….I never bought they were trying to be a power running team unless they wanted to be one of the worst teams in the league.
A good comp pick is not guarenteed my friend.Low risk high reward. What on earth can happen that it doesn’t end well? You let him go and get a comp pick? There’s no risk.
if there isn't any, then don't make a trade. keep the pick to get a defensive player. like eagles, who picked 5 defensive player this year with the first 5 picks and had the #1 defense.name the impact player on defense that’s available for a third. there were rumors they were looking at ramsey, but if true landing revel killed that idea. would you rather they trade for an impact player at a glaring position of need or stand pat?
That's just not true and shouldn't be uttered by anyone. The evidence has long been in.There’s no throw Dak can’t make.
