Does the Pickens move remind anyone of T.O. and Parcels?

I find it hard to believe Schotty did not have a say in this after his influence was all over the draft class.

Probably the reason this took so long was the Cowboys doing their homework on Pickens before finalizing the trade.

As for Parcells and T.O., from what I recall Parcells' issue was not so much T.O. himself, but the fact that his arrival forced the exit of Keyshawn Johnson; one of Parcells' "guys".

The steelers drafted all the talented head cases. Lol

Dionte johnson, George Pickens, there was another on the same squad. Can’t remember name.

wrong
BP never wanted TO

Parcels was a no nonsense old school HC trying to install a new, disciplined culture into this team.
Jerry the GM decided to bring in a diva WR into the locker room with T.O.

Now is history repeating itself ?
We have a HC wanting to instill a new culture and
Boom, we got a diva WR with a history of issues.

Thoughts?
Nope hes nowhere near as bad

I don’t see an ounce of resemblance between this move and bringing in TO. Pickens isn’t close to the caliber of receiver TO was and doesn’t have near the baggage. Schotty isn’t anything like Parcells and is a first year HC. Don’t understand this thread.

I’m pretty sure Shotty signed off on this. Parcells was a champion. Shotty is trying to keep his job. Different head spaces.
lol, if you think shotty or any coach that’s walked through that door since Jimmy has had any real say or input on any player. McCarthy had zero idea about Lance. This franchise is run by a full blown ******** old man.

It’s been reported that they tried to give Mike say and he didn’t want it. I’ve heard beat reporters say they give the coaches power Mike didn’t want it which is why they soured on him. An example they have was Gailey was the one who didn’t want Randy Moss. Jerry is a meddler. Sure.

There are some similarities my friend.
Some see them and some don't.
No big deal either way.

Other than the revolving quarterback door that Bill Parcells had I still can’t believe Randall Cunningham played quarterback for the Cowboys
I thought Randall was here during the Campo era. I remember Quincy, Vinny, Wright, Hensen, Hutchison, Romo, and Bledsoe as being Parcell’s QBs. I’ll have to go back and look but I swear Randall was a 1 year rental during Campo. But it’s 20+ years so my memory could be off.

You're correct

He was here in 2000

My guess is not only did Schotty sign off on it....I think he actually pushed for it.

I think Schotty learned that not doing anything last year in FA with a team losing a lot of players is not the way to go. Hence the reason they signed more in FA.

I also think that since they did not address an offensive skill position until the fifth round while the team drafted defense on the second day...They pretty much planned on trading for a WR but they wanted to wait to see if Tmac would fall and they did not want to pay a 2nd pick during this draft since they would not have a 4th.

So...I do not think this was a jerry or stephen move. I think this was pushed by Schotty. If this was a jerry or stephen pushing it, they would have just brought back Amari on the cheap.
