TRADED Cowboys trade for Joe Milton

Milton can help this team, but it depends on when Dak gets his season ending injury this season. If it happens early in the season, then we're in business but if it happens after we are out of the playoff race then that doesn't help.

He’s definitely one of the coolest looking QB’s in the league. He’ll look awesome in a Dallas uniform. Getting him with three years left on his rookie deal is great. Hopefully he makes Dak expendable after 2026, but honestly I see them as very similar players (questionable arm and average mobility).

Please just not #19

In favor of a guy you just got for a conditional 5th round pick? The cost would be the team’s future

He was probably already better than Lance when he was a backup at Michigan and Lance was in the pros
right lol, can we have lower expectations with Milton as he was NOT a top pick in the draft?

A little surprising they are going to go with a backup with nearly zero experience in a year where they believe they can compete.

But they never make any sense.
Joe Milton has to play on a 6th round pick rookie contract for the next three years....Stephen Jones is never surprising.

Terms like upside, potential, high ceiling, raw, means Said player isn't good enough and may never be. It's a calculated risk, but one I don't mind on the cheap. I like it.

I like this deal. The guy has potential. A honest to goodness possibility to be a starting NFL QB. IMO an upgrade over Cooper Rush. A good move and trade by the Cowboy FO for once. After the trade for the joke Trey Lance and the Mingo trade last season they finally made a deal I can feel good about.

Biggest key offseason moves,imo
- resigned Osa
- signed DE dante fowler (free agency)
- resigned turpin, anger
- resigned J.Thomas

The key would be, once we are eliminated from playoff contention, sit Dak and let Joe get his reps. Giving him valuable experience while improving our draft position

I’m really confused. He’s a young quarterback, who seemingly has some upside. We did not overpay for him with draft picks. I don’t know how to process this information.
