TRADED Cowboys trade for Joe Milton

Drop back 2 rounds to acquire a backup QB. Not a high price.

On a rookie contract, and the Patriots eat his signing bonus. The Cowboys can still draft a QB, and let Milton compete with the draft pick for the primary backup position.

anything is better giving up a 4th!!!! I hear your concerns loud and clear, we wanted to draft someone anyways, so it was going to be a 5th or lower, we ended up getting someone with a little NFL experience

They only gave up a 5th

Dallas received - Joe Milton and a 7th

New England received - 5th rounder
Sorry I missed that. Still wasn’t he a 6 a year ago?

Remains to be seen if he's a capable backup.

- Cooper Ruah proved that, Milton now has to prove that.

Me - he's pure developmental project until he proves differently. Trey Lance like project development.

- A great deal will also depend heavily on coaching staff and scheme. Ironically it is remains to be seen if we have that kind of coaching that can help develop Milton.

- Preseason gonna be an key early display of how Milton develops and progresses.

-.lve no problem with trading just a mere late round pick for already NFL coached project Qb vs a late round project QB in 2025 draft. This is trusting Mclay and current coaching staff. .

yeah, crazy thing is they were talking about a 3rd round pick for him, I just KNEW we'd do it, but they proved me wrong, and maybe it was just them trying to see which team would take the bait

part of the contract was to add in that he MUST adapt the Dak lingo of "Yeahhhhhhh here we go!"
look at the bright side we now quite possibly are going from Dak to Dak 2.0 with a bigger cannon and the nay sayers now will have multiple more years to complain (which is what they do) and this magnificent site can continue to be the joy that it is. Especially in the game threads. As a future MOD this is critical that you understand the future of the site.

Hopefully, any cadence will be restricted to each individual quarterback, whether they be starter, backup or third string. An offense's timing can be influenced by it hearing a different quarterback yelling the exact same thing as another quarterback.
I would actually bet that he will be taught that cadence because Dak does it, and if they change it to something different, the oline will get all messed up, well, the whole offense will get messed up.

But, Dak just had to have the, "here we go" crap....brand, baby!

long as he doesn't throw 5 int's, he can be our backup!!

Milroe is essentially dak with good wheels for someone who hates our QB as much as you do you'd think you'd want an upgrade. And Shaduer was unlikely an option and he isnt much better than Milroe IMO i believe Travis hunter was the real gem of colorado. This year isnt the year for Daks replacement next year is better but Im not sure we will be in a position for the blue chippers.

This is a no risk move I believe and there is upside. Dak was always going to be here in 25 lets see how training camp etc plays out.
Milroe wont cost $60m a year

I take your comments with humility and love, I can see myself being a good mod and upholding the core values of this great establishment  :huh::huh::huh:

Brady was also a sixth rounder. Romo was undrafted. You know nothing about this guy or football in general. Please just stop.
Milton was well known. Warts and all. Just stop with the Brady talk it makes you sound stupid. Further Mr Forum Football expert they just signed Dak to a 4 year extension. A really expensive extension. Better or worse he is the guy. This team has a million holes. Giving a 5 for a guy that was drafted in the 6th round a year ago with all the holes on this roster is why this team has been a joke for 3 decades.

insisted on playing Rush and not developing Lance
The fact Lance is still out there as a young 20-something free agent says a lot to me. I mean, the message by the league now is he isn't even backup material. Decent college QB but just doesn't have what it takes to be an NFL QB and this from a fan who was a strong supporter of his.

A+ move for Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb. I kill them for the dumb moves and the moves they don't make so I need to give them credit here. Great job. This kid has starter ability. Fantastic backup and is dirt cheap. Way better and cheaper than Rush and Lance.

If that potential seen in the video can be reflected in the NFL, and in Dallas it can be said that Milton is much better than Dak-ancer potentially, we will see how it looks in the preseason, if he shows what is seen in the video, we can say that a more exciting future is coming in the NFC East, 2027 the year that Dak-ancer can be easily cut,

A better phrase may be 'he will be asked' instead of 'he will be taught'. A cadence is something any quarterback does. This trade will look worse if the quarterback involved must be taught to say, "HERE WE GOOOOOO!" :)

And he looked decent vs. Washington. It’s funny how the league works.
