TRADED Cowboys trade for Joe Milton

How is it different? Pickett had value. Milton doesn’t. I question why trade him now but as far as having trade value? If he was a 6th round pick just last year how much do you think his value increased?
What are you asking? You answered your own question. Their value is why they’re different. Their value is based on their different situations

The Bills were locked into the #2 seed so this came against their backups. I’m a Vols fan and watched a lot of Milton. Rocket arm but accuracy is crap. You will see.
ooh absolutley i dont think anyone is hiding that, but like most QB's comming into the NFL he needs work, the base he starts with is damn good but for sure it could be nothing.

Milton will be starting soon ...... good trade
Need a poll for when Dak gets injured? How many games before it happens. Maybe wait until the schedule comes out.
Or are you thinking taking over due to poor play?

Yes, a good trade, no downside to this.

I pointed out he played against Buffalo’s backups but he still played very well, especially considering he was a rookie making his first NFL start. I’m not saying he’s going to be good but he did show potential that got several teams interested in trading for him. You can’t go off of what he did in college. He’s at the NFL level now and showed great accuracy in his only start. He could be one of those QBs that wasn’t great in college but ends up being an excellent NFL QB.

This tells me the Cowboys were not impressed at all by the QB's they would have been able to take in that 5th round area.

So they got Milton at the spot and added a 7th rounder in the bargain. This is a big win for Dallas, although I wonder why the Patriots were so quick to get him out of town.

He's already injured even before training camp opens, then he will have to be babied during camp with some restrictions body wise. Mentally he is gone.

Yeah man, I'm genuinely excited at this guys potential. If it doesn't work out we lost very little and the odds are he will be a serviceable back up at worst. We needed a back up and he cost very little. There's not much reason to complain about this move.
If he ends up being better than Rush it will be a good trade. We traded for him to replace Rush.

Talent wise? Rush doesn’t hold a candle to Milton. But Rush is a vet who knows how to win in the league.

Good win for Dallas. Rush was too expensive and you get Milton for 3 years on a rookie deal
Yeah,
I'm familiar with Milton.
When he sucked at Michigan Harbaugh ****canned him.
So then he went to Heupel's wide open TN offense and looked decent at best in the SEC.

But if you are talking about pure arm strength there is no question he would rank in the very top of all NFL QBs.

But then there's accuracy, processing, reading defenses, pocket presence, poise, timing and the other QB traits that he is quite poor at.
So I guess all those might fall under the QB talent umbrella that Milton is sorely lacking in.

Coop in a landslide imo.

Like I said, opinions vary.
I can respect yours as well.
But to top it all off Jim Shimko, the current Dallas Cowboys QB coach, is not the pedigreed QB whisperer on staff that a project/developmental QB would need to succeed in a 2025 NFL passing offense.

i have never watched him play, but if he has the raw talent that many people say he has, then its certainly worth a chance- based on the little we gave up. I try to be half way fair and I gotta say good job by Jerry on this one. The risk vs reward needle is in our favor IMO.

So we CAN’T go off what he did in college, a full season as a starter in the SEC? But we CAN go off a single NFL game against a team that had zero to play for. Gotcha.

imgine if he was drafted by us and won a game starting and we got rid of him, everybody will be pissed.

Nobody thought in 2016 a 4th round draft pick was going to excel in a manner that he did. He may have regressed or he may not have overcome Jerry and steven's buffoonery in roster building but hes a top ten QB who at times was top 5. There exist the possibility that in camp Milton can excel and if called upon in the regular season may win 10 straight or enough to get the job done. You never know lightning could strike twice

Or he could hold a clipboard all year but the price was right. I love this trade
