yes but drafting a guy offers so much more upside and possibility's.
This guy who may be useless, will take up a roster spot. and if Grier is better, then this guy
is a waste of time and roster spot.

Also they did give up 2 low picks for him, he wasnt free. ( he cost more than we got for amari lol)
The other thing is I bet no other team was offering 2 picks lol.

Why was NE determined to get rid of him even for peanuts ??

I was hoping for a guy like jaxon dart or ewers , they at least have ability to rise above bkup.

I am thinking now dallas wont draft anyone that I would have, so just lost excitement for the draft too.

Word is Milton wanted out of NE. They are committed to Drake Maye long term and just signed Josh Dobbs to be the backup. Milton didn't want to be third on the depth chart again on a team that is putting all their long term resources into another QB (Maye). He requested a trade and they obliged.

In Dallas Milton not only has a clear path to the #2 spot, he's also a potential future successor to Dak. He clearly has more long term upside than Grier (who shockingly has been in the NFL seven years) and is another Dak injury away from his big chance.

This was a good trade. They may stash Milton as the 3rd QB for the 2025 season to give him more time. You still have him under contract control for 2 more years after the season.

I cannot control how you take things ....... Dak usually plays well in the regular season ....... his problem is the playoffs.

But his leg has deteriorated and he will not last much longer ....... I predict he will retire in 2027 or 2028.

I like this kid. Nice size, very athletic and good accuracy, judging from this Buffalo game. It seems he has the makings of a good rookie. I think that's the case. That was a very impressive game for him.

Maybe it's just me but the probability of SleepNumber completing full 17 game seasons from here on out is somewhere between slim and none.
For that reason, a seasoned and accomplished backup QB is needed on this current Cowboys team to win games.

Neither Joe Milton or Will Grier are that. There is no time to wait on development.
The current QB coach's resume centers around a running game background.

I think this was a good move, he was worth a 5th round and they probably would have picked a QB around that spot anyway. At least they know what they are getting with this 5th round pick.
