TRADED Cowboys trade for Joe Milton

Does anyone living in Canton, Ohio or visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame know Jerry Jones is enshrined there--without him having to tell them that he is..?

Yeah I’m sure Jerry thinks he is in there for 30 years of failure as a GM.

“No one has told me how to get to the SB.”

SERIOUSLY?? You’re the GM. You’re supposed to tell everyone else. What a mess.

I have my suspicions as to how the HOF thing even happened…related to Dalrymple, who had many, many allies in league circles, cashed in every possible favor to get out of the hot water with the cheerleader incident and the shoe camera thing with the daughter. I’d be stunned if there’s absolutely no connection.

Jerry should have eventually been in as a “contributor,” but five years AFTER he quit….like everyone else. Instead he gets to strut around with his gold jacket. Total disgrace to the league.

Agree, seems as if a hedge bet against Maybe busting is worth more than a fifth.

I’d also ask why our team, who is reliant on mid round picks panning out trades them away as if they are no big deal.
Well, we were going to draft a quarterback anyway, so we just did with a fifth-round pick and also got a seventh-round pick in the exchange. I don't mind that.

FYI: Contributors are not bound to time limit restrictions as players and coaches are.

You must have loved the 4 for Lance trade too. Milton has all the physical tools just like Lance. They share the same problem which is the ability to accurately throw the football. Milton’s accuracy beyond 10 yards was awful and the reason why a 6’5” 235 pound guy from the SEC went in the 6th round.
But yet he went 22 of 29 in the one game he played last year. No one is touting him as a starter but if you get a capable backup for a 5th its a win. And yes, I liked the 4th for Lance. I don't like that we never really played him.

Why is that even relevant? This move literally does NOTHING to solve the actual problems preventing this team from being successful. You can find UDFs as good as grief and Lance they stink
I dont understand either. It's like some think because of the 5th round acquisition that Dallas got over on the Pats.
The Dallas Cowboys need an accomplished veteran presence at backup QB in order to win games.
At the very least Rush proved capable of doing that.

Neither Will Grier or Joe Milton are ready to step into a starting role and win games in Dak's absence.

And definitely not against this year's schedule.

I hear ya, and this is better than drafting a worse QB now, but he has one year less on his deal than Dak does.

There no avenue to take advantage of a rookie deal at all.

They are either paying him a pile at the same time as Dak, or let him walk.

As I’ve said….I like Milton and his upside, but when is his opportunity? Are they going to not play him even if Dak gets hurt as they did Lance, who they paid more for?

He is a developmental guy, not a backup for a team that claims they are trying to win.

Their plan is all over the place per usual, and it’s a case by case ‘collect players’ thing. Much like Mingo and Lance, they make no sense when timing is factored in.

Well, with only Grier as a backup, Milton should get every opportunity to show if he deserves a chance. They have three years to audition him before having to decide what to do. I doubt they will be paying another pile to Dak.

It's not a plan at all to trade for a developmental QB with whom you have neither the staff to develop him nor the time it takes for him to develop to be ready to start.

AND he just might plain suck in general which is where I'm leaning.
So there's that too.

Cowboys!
