TRADED Cowboys trade for Joe Milton

I don’t really care about giving up a 4th for Lance but if Trey was not on our roster maybe the Cowboys would have drafted Milton in the last draft because he could have taken that 3rd quarterback roster spot. Supposedly the Cowboys like the kid.

Jerry doesnt want to pay Lance or Rush.

That why we have 2 QBs making league minimum. 1M per.

I am watching Milton’s highlights from his Tennessee days. Most of the highlights is against SEC schools. It will take time for him to develop but he has all the tools you are looking for in a quarterback physically. Joe needs to play. He should automatically be our 2nd quarterback. Milton needs reps.

Just watched his Patriots tape and to me he has more talent then Lance.

He will play well in a system that Dak typically uses.

High tempo, spread. I think if we go to a run first, OL heavy scheme it’s not the best thing for him

I don't know, three years to take a look on a late-round rookie deal doesn't bother me. If we don't have any idea whether we want to move forward with him at that point, we've done an even poorer job than we did with Lance at evaluating the player.
Not at all trying to disagree or argue….we are definitely on the same side, but exactly when does that opportunity come?

Seems strange to have a plan that’s reliant on the highest paid player in league history to get hurt.

And again, last year they had a developmental guy that they chose not to play so they could win as many games as possible. Have they done a 180 on that philosophy, or will they actually play Milton in that case? If so, what’s changed as far as organizational philosophy? Some suspected they didn’t want to showcase Lance to keep his price low. Well then how do you find out if he can play?

It’s an odd approach for a team claiming to want to win now.

My major complaint is they are constantly all over the place, and things never seem to add up.

yes but drafting a guy offers so much more upside and possibility's.
This guy who may be useless, will take up a roster spot. and if Grier is better, then this guy
is a waste of time and roster spot.

edit, I see now it was a pick swap, which makes it better , and he wanted out of NE and he requested
a trade.
I still would rather draft a guy who could be a starter in 2 years.

Why was NE determined to get rid of him even for peanuts ??
Why no other team wanted him enough to outbid cap boy, the cheapest guy in the NFL? LOL

I was hoping for a guy like jaxon dart or ewers , they at least have ability to rise above bkup.

I am thinking now dallas wont draft anyone that I would have, so just lost excitement for the draft too.
Upon further review, I gotta give them credit on this one. He's a viable backup.

I was surprised with his accuracy. Especially that last Buffalo game. Supposedly he wanted to go to Dallas so he probably knows someone in our organization. I hate to go there but if Sheduer had this kids talent he would be going first in the draft.

I hope they dont stop continuing to look to upgrade the QB room. But let me guess: our scouts had a higher grade on him.
Exactly right. We should be drafting a QB somewhere in every single draft every single year. Brady, Brunnel, Warner, Roger, Tony, Dak...you never, ever know.

:hammer:

His mom is a die hard Dallas fan.

She would rock cowboys gear here in Orlando lol
