TRADED Cowboys trade for Joe Milton

One of the better trades they have made lately imo..

Only thing that worries me is.. will Jerry re-sign him to a monster contract before Dak finishes.

Then the idea of drafting a first round QB goes out the window and we roll with a low rounder for years again.

Of course if he turns out to be something all my worries are moot.

lol…ok

I’ll grant you that Milton is a bigger threat with his legs than Rush was. That’s something everyone knows already.

But Rush is much better at reading a D, and is more accurate, than Milton at this time.

Milton is far more physically talented, he is not the better QB at the moment. Just facts…

I agree with the Cowboys decision, but it’s not a certainty that Milton will be better
The fact that you had to explain this is telling.

Even then, Steelers seem like the best place for a young QB to go. Hes from Florida so maybe he just wanted to stay where it’s warm
He chose Dallas he is probably a life long Cowboys fan and wants to wear the star ,that means something and the hail mary from the Cowboys 15 is a possible TD with the right execution and with some luck.

How can you really complain about this?

It’s a 5th round comp pick for a guy with a ton of upside. Rocket arm and can use his legs.

We were not going to spend big money on a backup like Rush or Dalton.

Milton has the most upside of any QB outside of Prescott in forever that’s been in this roster.

We could spend the 5th and hope for what? Stephen McGee? Mike White? Ben DiNucci?

Several teams BID HIGHER than Dallas including the Eagles who run a model franchise.

This is nowhere near the failure of Trey Lance.

“Milton has the most upside of any QB outside of Prescott in forever that’s been in this roster.”….this is my point exactly.

Shotty just gave praise to Will Grier last week lol smh.
I got to thinking a little bit after I heard we had acquired Milton and what came to mind was,if Dak got banged up Dallas could play both Will Grier and Big Joe Milton.A 2 QB offense, good coaches should be able to get something out of these players.

Milton is a UFA in 2028 (age 28) and Dak is a UFA in 2029 (age 36).

I'm glad to have him. Rush got his money and I suspect he will be out of the league shortly.

I’m convinced the people complaining know nothing of this kid. it’s not even a 5th. It’s pick #171 for Milton and pick #217. So we dropped down 46 spots and picked up a guy that many think has starter potential and even if you disagree with that, most think is a good backup and he is dirt cheap and under contract for 3 more years. The only reason NE traded him is because they have a stud 23 year old QB and a veteran backup already on their team as well. We have crap. He has all the tools. Let’s see what happens. Low risk high potential payoff. This was a great trade IMO and it has been universally lauded as such.

31 is young for a QB.

QBs can easily play till 35 to 37.

He came here because he thinks Dak sucks, and can steal his job
That implies that you think Maye is good? Whether he thinks Dak sucks or not is irrelevant. He has a contract that’s gonna require him to not be movable. Meanwhile Maye is a first round pick and 22. He has no shot.

If Milton can learn to read defenses and not see ghosts out there, he will be a better QB than Dak. He already is more mobile, runs faster and has a better arm. He can keep the seat warm until Arch Manning gets here.
Reading defenses ain’t the only issue lol…..you clearly aren’t familiar why he was a 6th rounder.
