TRADED Cowboys trade for OT Broderick Jones

No clue if this is will work but I give the FO credit for identifying a weakness on the roster and doing something about it. Refreshing.

NPF has been outright bad. 18 sacks allowed in 1,600 career snaps
I hear ya. My point is that you'll likely find someone off the waiver wire who is a serviceable swing tackle. Little to no cost. Hey, if Jones proves to be serviceable, Jerrah might be able to defend the move. But, he was a bust before fusion surgery, I don't see him suddenly becoming productive.

Having said that, your point on NPF stands.

If a team cuts a serviceable Tackle, he wont reach us in Waivers, go check the list of teams who pick before us.

Common sense isn’t too common around here.

They complain when they don’t make moves and complain when they do.

Their logic is, Hey maybe the Lions will release Sewell and he will make it to us to be a swing.

Every player on the waiver wire is going to be equal to Thomas and Shelton.

Upon further review I agree with you.

I don’t hate this move.

He’s probably an average tackle or around average with some upside.
Average? The Steelers were going to cut him. Even when compared to DEPTH players....Thomas isn't "average".

He's a bust. He's simply a gigantic guy who has crazy raw athletic ability, that has shown for years that he isn't an NFL player.

Steelers took a "swing for the fences" hence on him...which I can't fault them on considering the upside if he hit....but it just didn't work.

He was getting abused in the preseason by pass rushers who won't even be on active rosters come tomorrow.

Another example of a "GM" making moves simply based on the same name recognition average fans have. Other real GMs have no interest in a guy that can't play

I would try Nate Thomas at Guard before cutting him.

Get him out of space and kick him inside.

Why when we already have good backups in the interior OL? That time has passed. We will be cutting interior guys that played better than him. Put him on the PS as an OT. If someone wants him stye can have him. You can always pluck a Thomas off of someones PS or get in some other way if emergency strikes.

The steelers were not going to cut a 1st round pick still on is rookie contract, get real. And the fo deserves a lot of credit for rebuilding the team in the past year, why not just ride the wave and trust the move - they have been on fire the past year

Yep. He may be worse than what we have. With as bad as I see Nate and how bad I hear Steele he’s been? I’m all for a reclamation project.
