A trade rumor involving the Dallas Cowboys and a former All-Pro cornerback had the fan base buzzing, but reputable NFL insiders aren't buying into the noise.

Dallas Cowboys Nation was buzzing this weekend after an exciting trade rumor began making the rounds. There were unverified reports that Dallas could be a "potential suitor" for Miami Dolphins star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, a three-time All-Pro and Super Bowl champion.

However, anyone who has followed the team religiously and understands how Jerry Jones works was a little suspicious of the rumors.

As it turns out, the excitement that was caused by the potential of Ramsey to Big D was all for nothing, because several reputable NFL insiders who have closely followed the team for years continue to debunk it.

The latest insider to call BS on a potential Ramsey deal is DallasCowboys.com's Bryan Broaddus.

Getting to be the slow time of the year.
So let the media and media wanna-be's keep the rumor mill going by relating it to the Cowboys for continual click bait.

I see many trade proposals still, and everyone seems to be Dallas related. I don't waste my time to click on them. Just see the headline and move on.

Cowboys are ALWAYS rumored for a big trade!! Every single season!! Pickens seems to the first one that was right in a very long time!!
I was telling my Steelers fan friend, all off season, and even some during last season. Pickens will be traded to Dallas.
Steelers had Pickens jersey's marked down to $25. So I got her one, it should be here next week.
She was saying all last year she wanted to get one.
Actually she still wanted one after the trade. But could not make herself order it. She did pay me for it though, as she did not expect me to pay for it. I told her it was not necessary but she Zelled me the money.
I am waiting for Pickens to get a final number as I told her I was going to get one. Maybe get her a Cowboys one as well. :muttley:

His number still yet to be determined.

I don’t see the Cowboys making anymore trades unless a glaring issue rears its ugly head early in the season.

The best chance for Ramsey to be a Cowboy was on draft day and that should have happened.

His chances of being a Cowboy now are practically non-existent.
Should have no if it was gonna happen it could have happened you didn't realize that he just got signed to a new contract how much dead cap they would have trading him what are they willing to eat and what do they want for him was probably way too much... But the Dallas cowboy linked to every trade rumor and every player becoming available every coats blah blah blah everything is attached to the cowboy so this was actually a possibility with Pickens both were considerations around the draft..

His money doesn't make sense for them to trade him so unless they're getting something like really stupid amount of first round picks they're probably not going to do it it's not even viable you all get all into this well it should have happened you realize Miami wasn't going to give him up for what he's actually worth because they owe him so much money when you have new money much like we do with Prescott you just can't trade people and eat all that money without proper compensation in their minds and in their minds they're asking for too much which makes sense..

Go look at it some of these trades were never going to happen anyway because of the contracts the trade should have happened last year before he got his new deal the factor the matter is there's not gonna be a lot of people lining up to give a lot of draft compensation for a guy even if the Dolphins are gonna eat some of his money because it's too high for a guy that has some of the same baggage that we're hearing from Pickens do we really need one of those on both sides of the ball possible diva like personalities.....

Actually both those trades were being discussed around the draft but people don't realize it would be very costly for the Dolphins to trade a man with that much money and dead cap space he would eat up it makes no sense unless they get a ridiculous overpayment in draft capital and nobody's willing to do that especially for a guy with baggage.. He was one of the two trades and remember they said they had two substantial trade talks in the works well that was these two guys they did make pickings happen but it made no sense from either party when we talking about Jalen Ramsey's money they owe him too much money in dead cap space it's like us trying to trade Prescott even if Prescott waved as no trade cause the Cowboys would be dumb to eat all that money...

Unless someone offered them four 1st round picks it makes no sense...

This is why? It never was a reality for him to be traded unless they get an insane amount of overpayment and draft picks from somebody look at it it's literally says the first potential out would be 2026 but look at his dead cap hits and look at his actual cap hits it's a bad contract....

There is no way the Dolphins are moving him right now he just signed a new deal last year new money starts this year he makes no sense they wanted to trade him if they got some sucker to overpay for him you know like two first round picks or something....

I don't know the cap that well but when you have a dead cap hit of $49 million right now with a $16 million actual capit next year you have a $25 million cap hit..but 18M in dead cap..

I mean for the Dolphins next year makes sense but for other teams are they taken on $25 million for him at his stage in his career? 25, 26, 36 That would be 2026 2027 and 2028 cap hit for Jalen Ramsey yeah the dead cap gets lower and lower which makes him more movable but I don't know how the rest of it works but that's a lot of money...

It wasn't really a rumor around the draft they were talking to the Eagles and Cowboys that were trying to find interest but in the end they're not going to get enough compensation to eat his dead cat which I just explained up there is crazy he's not movable it's not that the Cowboys or Eagles wouldn't be interested or another team is that the Dolphins themselves would be stupid to let him go they would have to eat a lot of money.. It's simply right now a bad contract for both the buyer and the seller..

lol ok man.
Explain how an aging corner who will be 31 in October and has played for three teams is going to benefit us more than a solid 23 year old WR? Our first pick would have been a WR had the one we wanted not been taken. Pairing Pickens with CeeDee is going to open up our passing game making us more dynamic offensively. Our receivers were having trouble separating and Dak needs weapons especially coming off a serious injury. Defensively our biggest issue is upfront. Adding a corner who teams keep moving on from is isn’t going to help much when we’re being manhandled upfront.
