One of the most anticipated parts of any NFL training camp is the debut of the new crop of draftees, plus the watch for UDFAs that might break through. This has been particularly fun for fans of the Dallas Cowboys this year. Early indications are that the 2023 rookies are collectively going to play a big role for the team.

Here is a breakdown of how all the draftees are doing. UDFAs have been mostly quiet, but there still are a few names to watch.

it’s early but so far this class is a home run.
There’s nothing about the early reports that suggest anything close to a home run

M. Smith has been ok. But far from anything special. Not saying he’s been bad. But nothing out of camp suggests he’s blowing it up.

Schoon has done nothing. Been hurt

Overshown has flashed a lot.

Fehoko another nothing

Richards nothing

Brooks flashed a lot

Not saying these guys aren’t good. It’s their first camp. But nothing suggests home run right now

So basically you're saying that claim is a homer run.

Mazi plays a position that you won’t see unless we are watching film and breaking it down.

Unless you’re Gallimore on your backside lol

Correct. Fair enough. Still too early say a home run. Which is my point

Home Run? LOL

What are you talking about? Where is the home run part? They have no data on our 2nd round pick at all, our 4th rounder there hasnt been a peep. Overshawn sounds like has made some plays and Mazi has shown some strength against backups.

Where is the home run?

It's early, but including UDFA's I think we hit on 3-4 picks personally.

You missed Vaughn and Scott. The early signs are good. A lot to be happy about.

6th-round pick, part 2 - RB Deuce Vaughn
Still, his diminutive stature led to plenty of questions about how well he could hold up in the land of giants known as the NFL.

Yeah, those are getting answered in a hurry, in very positive ways. Vaughn just looks electric when he gets his hands on the ball, and he is even showing both a willingness and ability to do some blocking when needed. With Tony Pollard now the lead back, the change of pace role was wide open this year. So far, Vaughn looks to be just the right size.

Don't know about the home run for sure yet, but this draft class is definitely no bust. Mazi is going to be a beast and Overshown will be a heat seeking missile. That's close to home run territory for the defense.
Brooks is looking particularly promising, and I think Luepke just might prove to be a worthy short yardage asset if not more.
And contrary to some of his critic's opinions, it appears that Schoonmaker actually has 2 legs, not just 1, and they both work!
He was actually seen catching and running with the ball.
I think Schoonmaker is gonna be a lot better than his critics have predicted. Go get 'em Schoon!
