I'm sure that the Jones boys did everything they could to keep Eberflus around, including offering him the defensive coordinator position this year. But the man preferred to leave.

Tells me he didn't want to continue coaching with the current coaches or the current owners. Others can tell themselves whatever else they need to in order to feel better about it. The fact is that the man chose leaving over staying.

But I think the organization made every effort to retain him.
