You can make him a June 1st cut next year to spread out the cap hit. If he is cut now, they lose that option.

His 2013 salary is guaranteed either way.

I don't think we can release him right now without clearing the sufficient cap room. Someone will have to restructure or Rat will have to accept a cut.

It would not be a wise decision to even think about playing him with a sprained MCL. I would let him rest a week rather than risk losing him for the season. Lets see what Randle can do after a week getting 1st team reps in practice.

Randle will be fine. My only concern is pass protection.

Sounds like Murray doesn't want Randle to show what he can do with a full week of preparation. It's in Murray's best interest to rest that knee a while.
