Zoners:

I look for Dallas Cowboys information immediately after arriving to work and booting up my computer.

As I finish reading through all the NFL sites for Cowboys information, it amazes me at how many articles are available about other teams players getting into T R O U B L E !:bang2:

With that in mind, I was thinking out loud this morning of how fortunate (knock on wood) our Dallas Cowboys have been lately. It has been a long time since one of our players have made headlines for encounters with any law enforcement officials.

My point finally: props go out to MR. CALVIN HILL He has done a great job policing our team!:)

Also kudos to our scouting dept. and Jeff Ireland.
I think the local media is getting bored with the lack of trouble-makers.
Listening to GAC yesterday they were trying to figure out where the drama was going to be in this years training camp.
I'm sure the media will try to create one if they can not find it.
My bet is on the "Parcells defense held us back" theme and the media running with that and asking every player what thier opinion is.
The local media diggin for dirt.

You can't always be right.

Sooner or later we'll be involved in something of this order, whether or not its drugs, steriods, etc. Its cyclical.

All we can do is try to minimize our risks as much as possible.

Well there was the Terry Glenn deposit at a trash bin but really doubt that's the kind of incident that Goodell concerned about. Unfortunately we can't escape some of our 90s incidents which still continue to haunt us in the minds of some around the NFL. But your right, we've really cleaned up our image which Jones and particularly Parcells worked hard on. Now if we can only regain the Cowboy standard of repeatedly winning playoff games and competing/winning SBs.

The kudos really need to go to Jerry Jones who has resisted temptation and stayed away from problem children both in the draft and in FA. As much as I hate that we brought in Owens he isn't the same kind of problem child as Adam Jones and his ilk, he is just a showboat and attention grabber, but he isn't a criminal or a thug.

Other than his pouting on the sidelines, mugging for the camera, and dropping a lot of passes, he really hasn't done anything "wrong" since he came to Dallas. I still don't like him but I'd rather deal with his junk than with a thug like Jones or Vick.

Jerry made a great move in bringing in Parcells and Ireland. The best thing Parcells did while he was here was to clean up the team and get rid of the riff-raff. Ireland and his staff have doe a wonderful job of finding talented players who don't have a criminal past. They did their research on Canty and found that he wasn't a thug, just got caught up in something that was going on. He has stayed out of trouble since. Same with "Killer" Davis. If BP had suspected that he was involved in something he would have been gone a long time ago. In fact Bill cut him after the 1st incident and brought him back.

In the 90s, we were the laughing stock of the league when it came to thugs and drugs, one of the reasons why I never liked Michael Irvin. We were almost as bad as the Bengals are now with all the arrests and accusations that were being levied against our players. Some were true and some weren't but that fact that guys like Irvin WERE involved in the stuff they were doing made them prime targets for false accusations.

I feel like we have a team of adult men who can handle their business without falling back into an adolescent lifestyle. I'm sure that somewhere along the line someone is going to get into trouble in some way but it will be the exception rather than the rule.

Nice job Jerry!

It is nice to have the run we have had with our players staying out trouble. However, it seems when we are getting into trouble, we are winning Super Bowls. I hope this team of nice guys can win one or 5 SBs,, but if it takes a few bad head lines, then I am ok with that as well.

I just hope that Keith Davis gets us back in the news. I mean a drive by, a car chase, something...Killer, we are counting on you!
