  • The 49ers:
    • Signed DT Javon Hargrave ($84M contract).
    • Lost OT Mike McGlinchey (87.5M contract with Denver).
      • Interesting because DL and defense overall was a strong area for the 49ers in 2022.
      • I would have guessed that they would keep their starting OT over adding an outside DL.
    • Lost QB Jimmy Garoppolo (72.75M contract with Raiders)

  • Cowboys:
    • Keeping D. Wilson
    • Keeping Pollard
    • Keeping Steele or getting a 2nd round pick.
    • Tyler Smith expected to replace McGovern at LG with Tyron at LT and Steele at RT. Maybe Peters as backup.
    • Maybe keeping Fowler.
    • LVE ?
    • Schultz - Likely gone.

Tyler Smith is not going to Guard. He is our LT for the next 10+ years.

We should have signed Javon Hargrave or gone after Jaylon Ramsey. Hardgrave would have shored up our run defense. So the 9ers are having a better offseason than us.

Hargrave is better than anything we have done but they couldn't afford to lose OL....and they did.

Armstead missed 7 games last season and didn’t have a sack. Kim law has been an injury plagued bust. They’re heavily reliant on their front 7 stopping the run and getting pressure so they can cover the weaknesses in their secondary. Many there (and league) feel McGlinchy was a weak link and hadn’t lived up to his draft status and wasn’t worth the contract he received!

A lot of SF fans felt their DT group wasn’t strong enough, and they thought McGlinchey was one of the worst pass blocking Tackles in the league.

And yea this was before the moves they made.

Hargrove with Hankins but not Hargrove by himself because the other DT on this team are backups.

So where is Steele (when he comes back) and Tyron playing?

If Steele and Tyron are both healthy, Tyler is absolutely going to LG.
Steele tore his ACL. We will be lucky to see him at all next year.

Id guess Tyron week be at RT until Steele maybe comes back.

Honestly I’m hoping we hit on a guard in the draft and Tyron is depth. The cost aside he’s worth it for insurance. Smith is the future at LT and I’d leave him there
But that depends on who’s there at 26
