Man....even Jamie Dukes mentioned our Special Team play. Would like a better showing, but I dont get too worked up in preseason.

It is hard to evaluate second team D accurately when they were faced with poor field position and noodle arm leading the O to three and outs.

Totally agree.

I think they did ok....and remember, the Chargers kept their first string offense in the game to get something going on offense.

Our first team totally abused them.

And a QB who doesn't know his *** from an out nowadays.

You're wrong if you're putting that on Johnson. I'm not a Johnson fan at all. But he played behind a porous line with inexperienced WRs and TEs.

Put the majority of this on STs which should play better regardless of looking at young guys.

I don't like the idea of wholesale changes. I really wish they would put guys in with the first team. I'm sure they can look at film and make sense of most of that chaos out there.

I liked what little I got to see of our starters on both sides of the ball.

The home town camera work pissed me off royally. Always on the Chargers until right before the play started and giving LT's interview preference to what was going on on the field.

I hope Brad Johnson's struggles were because he was playing behind our 2nd team O-line. If not, we are in DEEP DEEP trouble unless the defense bails us out.

Felix is going to be good for us.

Too many huge penalties. I hope they don't plague us throughout the season. Ditto for fumbles.

Did everybody else miss the opening offensive series of each team?

my thoughts:

1) NFL Network gets an F for making us suffer through that garbage 4th qtr of the Commanders game, especially the last 3-4 mins

2) missed the best play we had (1st series of offense and defense)

3) 2nd series defense was great, Amendola cost us a TD with a pretty stupid decision to return that punt and fumbled

4) no excuse for pass interference when you have a guy doubled perfectly as Hamling and Henry did...if RW had done what Hamlin did, there'd have been 10 threads started about it

5) liked what I saw from Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins...Jones definitely looks like he has special ability

6) the special teams are just pathetic...I though Read was terrible last yr, this yrs units look even worse...cant believe they didnt replace this guy, hpefully it wont cost us huge in a big game (or worse, in the postseason)

7) 2nd team OL can probably count on Houck kicking their arses on Monday...all 5 of them have been lousy

8) Brad Johnson didnt look great, but when the pass protection and run blocking from the OL in front of him are as bad as its been, hard to totally blame him for everything...still, he scares me if he has to play meaningful snaps over several games

9) sounds like the first team OL just blew the Chargers D up all over the field

10) most of 2nd team defense has been mediocre or worse

Let me say this about the first half.Felix Jones looks outstanding. get this guy on the field with the first some in our next game. i can see he and M.Barber in the backfield at the same time. Jones is the real deal.

I refuse to have any knee jerk reactions over this game.....

Our first sting O & D......were very sharp.

My main concern is Special Teams.....for several players the ability to play or not play ST will be the benchmark for making this team.

I'm of the opinion we need a different backup QB.....but the pass protection has been atrocious so don't blame it all on Brad.

Let's see if things improve in the second half.

I really liked what i seen from the Secondary. Although those big cushions piss me off but we are vanilla right now( I hope ) Zack Thomas looks good out there you can see he is making an impact on this defense along with the revamped secondary.

Roy look good out there as well thats the fasted ive seen him out there running since earlier in his career.
