We played them a lot like we played the Giants by playing the run with our front 7.

If I remember correctly, their coaches stopped him more so than our defense. For some reason, they didn't use him at times you would think they would. Like in the redzone.

I think they stopped because they couldn't run and they were having success passing.

Exactly!!!

Only Marty can stop LT.

I have the game on DVD.

Remember, about 2-3 games in, LT started complaining about the lack of carries he was getting.

They are a different team than the one we opened up against in 2005.

I am convinced they were the best team that didnt make the playoffs last year. They had an extremely brutal schedule last year and almost still got in.

Well Brees had an ordinary game.. barely 50% completions and less than 6 YPA 18/35 209.

LT had 19 carries for 72.

Course no Gates in the game.

Speaking of Brees and a TE, how much do the Saints use a TE in the passing game.. much, or is it more geared towards wideouts?

man that was the first game of the year and they no gates, we can't even tackle and stop tiki barber what makes anybody think we can stop the mvp of the league?

im not trying to be negative because i love my boys but early in these games we have been terrible with stopping the run. what eventually happens is that we get ahead and teams just start to pass all the time.

we cant cover the rb's out in the flats at all so he'll kill us on the screen pass,
that said i still think we can beat the chargers because they dont have wr's and we can focus on containing LT but not stopping him!!

I think he would run for about 115 and catch around 45 yds and might even score twice but we would win 34-21.

people have not been really talking about how suspect the chargers defense is they allowed mega pints to the saints and bengals just a few weeks back,

and i can not for see them outscoring us if the colts and giants cant do it with more overall talent on offense.

What does that mean?

Tiki is a beast in this league if you havent noticed.

WARNING: Homers are closer than they appear.

LT seems to start slow usually and this was without Gates and their passing game wasn't anything special so we focused on the little LT usage they had.

tiki is a beast but he cant even tie LT's cleats. thats what im saying. LT is tough between the tackles and hard to stop outside thats what im saying.

They also have a very good backup rb on the bench who could be considered the best backup in the league in michael turner. ( i think MB3)

He also is fast and strong and they rarely miss a beat when he is in the game.

Neither did

Tony Romo
Kyle kosier
Marc columbo
Terrell Owens
Patrick watkins
akin ayodele
anthony fasano

just a thought.

Anyway who cares. That game has nothing to do with anything. Anyone thinking superbowl right now is crazy. THis is a week to week league and right now we have the saints to worry about.
