Overshown "It really couldn't be any better"

Its an ACL, MCL and PCL.

I spoke with a sports medicine doctor about it when it happened, just by coincidence I had a patient who she rode in with. I was told he can absolutely make a full recovery, but longevity or reoccurence is a legitimate concern.

I will be hoping for the best in any case. He certainly wouldn't be the first player to overcome long odds.
This is exactly why I would shut him down for 2025. Just guessing here, but healing isn't the concern as much as sustainability. In other words, can he hold up once he returns to the field playing at a high level, and if so, how long? I feel for the kid........tough to keep your confidence intact. You can feel within his statement ..........almost like he is trying to convince himself.

That doesn't change the fact that it was dumb luck he got rolled up on and it wasn't the same me as the year before therefore he's not injury prone it happens in football the worst ones are the ones you get rolled up from behind unexpectedly you can't protect yourself and you have something like this happened

I mean I thought it was clear I was just saying that he's not injury brown it's not the same knee it's not the same injury it didn't happen the same way if it was non contact and it happened to the same knee twice I'd be more concerned i'm not as concerned nowadays players come back from these injuries all the time regardless of what people think of the future it's not the same me it did not happen the same way therefore you cannot be called injury prone just yet...

Of course you can have a reoccurrence if you get sideswipe rolled up on that kind of thing it's just football that doesn't make you injury reprone that was just all I'm saying people act like the guy is just injured all the time like it was the same knee and happened the same way and I was just making sure I made my point which apparently it gets lost upon people no one said it was a horrific injury that he wouldn't have to rehab hard and come back from but he will be back but there's no way you should coddle players they could come out and they play hard and you hope that for the best you can't predict injuries or protect players by trying to keep them off the field/

Oh yeah, I thought it was the same knee.

Thats also what I told the doc, so hopefully you're right and I'll definitely feel better if its the other leg.

Bad luck happens.

I'm done with the sick, lame, and lazy players on DAL. I hope he's not one.
Watered your pets today?

At this point in that man's career ... I'll listen to anything that man wants to say. Unlike the above view, he has a ton of value at work.

You sticking with he hasn't earned confidence yet?

Did you get your medical degree and then in spare time, a legal degree? Most of us fans keep faith in athletes and their chosen team ... most fans do.:hammer:

But will the knee be good and will he trust it?

Granted, he doesn't have to make the cuts a WR would but a LB like him makes plenty of them

Its a psychological recovery as well.
Murray has been working at Overshown’s weak side linebacker spot and has proven to be a fast study in new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus’ scheme.

Murray said the defense is a good fit for him and has even been targeted as the green dot to make the calls over middle linebacker Jack Sanborn, who was played in the scheme under Eberflus in Chicago last year before signing with the in free agency.

“I’m extremely comfortable with it, ” Murray said of being the green dot. “I’ve done it the majority of my career, getting us in and out of checks, being able to decipher different things, different formation, stuff like that.”

Murray said stopping the run has been an [sic] major point of emphasis since he showed up.

The first thing you need to start by building a great defense and stopping the run,” Murray said. “And so I think that was really the first thing that Ebeflus [sic] kind of talked about was stopping the run as a piller [sic] of our defense. It’s definitely an emphasis for us.”

Really? I'm not at the present worrying about exactly when Overshown returns. He WILL. It's still a Dallas team here.

Not at all.......guess you missed where I said

Just guessing here,

: There are whispers that #Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown may be ready to suit up in late September/early October.

Source: “In my 11 years working under this training staff, I’ve never seen anyone regenerate the way Overshown has. This man heals like a lizard”.

Really so the guys injured and that's what you come up with he's one of the hardest working high motor high energy guys on our team literally completely opposite of what you're suggesting. Anybody in here actually watch games and watch plays or just make up narratives or see a narrative and then just label a guy the man had bad luck he got a torn ACL on one knee one year got rolled up on and had his other knee completely destroyed it's football literally lots of traffic and the worst kind is when you get rolled up on by a big dude at full speed he knocked down by a like a bowling pin but he's been coming back early off these injuries says he's harder working than most..

Probably wasn't true but the things Jerry was saying about guys not working well in rehab was on Trayvon Diggs they're saying that he wasn't working as diligently to make that leg and knee stronger in his rehab and that's why he got reinjured it's probably not true but this isn't the guy you blame if you want to see guys on the field taking plays off there are other guys we can discuss but this ain't one of them....

Overshown was looking like a difference maker. He may be able to play in 2025 but it will probably be the 2026 season where he will be fully recovered both physically and mentally.

Confidence in how your body can hold up is critical. Many tend to be more tentative and even a split second of uncertainty can severely damage productivity.

This kid completely blew out his knee, and I thought that perhaps his NFL career was over. I went through an ACL and meniscus tear with our daughter. Several years ago... 2017. It is just amazing how these surgical techniques have improved exponentially over the last decade. I have an acquaintance who is an orthopedic surgeon (retired), and the advances they have made are simply amazing.
